Remember how I was bitching about people flooding the general boards with giveaways? I'm doing it now.

Anyway, Original War giveaway. I intend to give the game to a person who will actually like and play it as opposed to a random draw, so rough rundown: Original War is a real time RTS with a strong focus on characters and RPG elements.
More info on the game:
My old awareness thread

To join, you need:
a) To tell me why would you like the game and why do you think you'd enjoy it
b) To say "I'm in!"
c) ... That's it.

I will decide how will the game be given away without telling you guys. Giveaway will end when I feel like neding it - I fully expect Thespian to remind me in case I forget.

I will attempt to bump.
Not in because I dislike RTS, but many thanks to you.

Is the game about cold war, isn't it? I hope we are not going back to "The Original War", by the way. :-/
I'd play the heck out of it b/c it's got cute, little soldiers with whom you can get attached! But also because I like both RTSs and RPGs, so always nice to find a game which combines those. I made up stories for all my personnel in XCOM EU, so the way I see it, this game is just cutting out some extra work for me ^^ So, I am in! Thanks for the generosity, yo.

(If I win this, you can discount my entry in your other giveaway; I'll edit appropriately as well).

edit: thanks for the support, everyone! <3

Thank you Fenixp. I'm in.
To tell you the truth I haven't noticed Original war until today, but I'm a hard-core fan of RTS (since Dune 2), the description of the game is very tempting and I really love ATARI games!
Not in! +1!! :)

That's not accidental, at all. In fact, I am going to say it was quite intentional.

This wasn't ;-p

~btw, thanks for the GA's - glad to see you've come over to the dark side where we have cookies and well more cookies - no milk, well that's why it's called the dark side ;-D~
I still have to play past the second/third mission of the US campaign. I don't know what's up with that as from what I've played I really like this RTS, which is a genre I typically shy away from these days. I'll just blame it on ye olde "TOO MANY GAMES!!!" ;)

That can indeed happen. I definitely like that one carries over a certain amount of soldiers from mission to mission, making them very valuable later on as they gain experience/skills. I also like the fact that while some will have their own areas of expertise they'll still be able to do the low level stuff like defense and attending wounded soldiers when the need is there.

Fenixp: Remember how I was bitching
You're the true jerk !

So ...original war .... one of the first games I bought here, really good *time* we had. Mmh. In fact, if you could go back in the past and give it to me before I buy it, I think I would appreciate it. And while you're at it, warn the ukrainian, you may prevent a war (or hasten one ?).

(I am obviously out, +rep for you, swift bump, and thanks for the GA full of hypocrisy !!!!)
Not In...

but thanks for bringing this one to my attention - looks pretty interesting and I had NO CLUE it even existed. I'm sure you're at least a bit tongue in cheek about hating general forum giveaways but they're great if only to bring attention / awareness to games. I check on all of them and have found several games that I had 1) never heard of 2) didn't know were on the site or 3) both! I should go through GoG's whole catalogue at some point, but why spoil the surprise of finding out about a game this way!

Not really. At one point, quite literally about 1/5 topics was a giveaway, and as I don't care for giveaways, 1/5th of the boards were just dead weight for me when it comes to these boards.
I am in,
I have played this game for a little time on my cousin's PC, I think he still has CD.
He is not into strategy games, but this one liked very much, that means it is worth to play it.
So it is time for me to know it deeper :)
I want to be in!

a) Because I love strategy games, specially RTS, though, at the very first I started with the TBS ones. It seems this game is "old school" whatever that is, it´s the only school I like anyways, having to build your base, and gather resources, and reallocate to another part of the map to scavenge for more resources or to save your base, kinda city-sim and pew pew all-in-one.
Plus the idea of having individuals with backgrounds clicks with me, I love stories and that I think would add to that, and they wouldn´t just be expendable clones but "people" you would relate to or care about. I remember when I used to play Command & Conquer: Red Alert I would build a wall around the base, leave all the foot soldiers protected there and send out the tanks to do the battle, since I would see them as machines not as people :3 Later I started to be a little more flexible since it would take out the fun and be more stress than anything :P
Also I see it says something about battling your foes in a different time-space, that made me recall another game that intrigued me in that respect but didn´t play called "Achron". And above that the graphics make me recall KKnD.
b) I´m in!.
c) Ok.

P.S.: As cmdr_flashheart said but inverse, if I happen to be the one to congratulate victors, I´d enter your other giveaway :P..................not really, I´m joking............or not. ( >.>)
