Well, I was hoping to get Shogo and maybe some Tomb Raider games. My plan was to observe every Daily Deal until 5th of July and then buy those games with a "standard" 50% discount. I didn't read this thread in time and missed a discount.

This sucks a bit and I don't think U guys from GOG want players to feel sorry because of a missed sale. I hope U will change your policy regarding sales, so it would be always clear when they end. After all, there is a really thin line here between joy and frustration.

Anyway, I hope there will be another chance to get Shogo for 3$.

Good suggestion! And thanks for the info! I totally missed that post, and so was quite surprised by the sudden 24hrs heads up notice. I was away from GOG for more than 24 hours - shame on me ;-) - so got the notice after the fact.

Any more surprises like this hidden somewhere, or is it now safe to assume "500(-60)+ Games 50% off until July 5" and "Once again: More than 500(-60) games 50% off until July 5." to be valid statements, GOG? :-D
None that I know of.

I made the suggestion because I myself saw GOG's post by pure chance.
IMHO, it would be better if GOG followed up their original anouncement with a 48 hrs reminder-thread and then bump it when there're only 24 hrs left.

I can't comment on how much (more) work this would be for GOG (or the email notification Shimejibr suggested), but it may result in more sales and less "Urg, I missed it" or "Where's the sale for X game" posts.
Yeah, I missed this too. Especially considering the amount of stuff on the main page right now, an email notification would have been appreciated.

teabow: Soo I didn't buy Fallout 1 and 2 in the hopes they will be sold in a bundle sometime during the remainder of the sale.

After re-reading this thread it appears I should've pulled the trigger on the individual sale. Or am I mistaken ?
Yeah that's true. You'll have to wait for December's Sale for the discount, provided they don't make a particular one day/weekend discount of the Fallout games. Subscribe to the newsletter to get the promo information (of the weekends).

Actually, as I understand it, GOG may not be able to sell the Fallout games by the time Christmas arrives, as Interplay will lose the rights for the first 3 games to Bethedsa.

Maybe they'll hold a (grant) sale before this happens? Like the one they did before the prices went up?

Holy cow! That's my last chance to buy Fallout 2!
Ah, man... I had seen Descent 1 + 2 on sale, and had been mulling the idea over in my head whether or not to get it. I just saw a post about D2X-XL adding Oculus Rift support and that "Heck yes! That's on sale currently... Time to go pick it up!"

Needless to say, I was disappointed to see that it wasn't on sale anymore... Any chance of a second chance at the end of the sale or something?

Ditto. I wish I saw this thread in time. Missed some deals I was watching to see if they showed up on daily special. Oh well I was lucky enough to grab the Tomb Raider series on sale at GamersGate but not so lucky with the Fallout games.

So that's what happened, I was hoping for a Descent / Freespace bundle but instead the prices went back to full price, I never even saw that they would go back up in price... >_<

Hopefully they will be on sale again someday....

I have a feeling that Interplay will put them on sale again when it get close to when they lose the rights to these games. Which is only in 4 months time

Good! That's "enough" time for me to make some dollars online xD

Same here, was waiting for a Descent / Freespace bundle, instead they seem to keep posting the same bundles in rotation

Glad I wasn't the only one, maybe it will still be a bundle, but it seems like its just the same few bundles that were shown on the longest day sale... So probably not. Sigh maybe the Christmas sale then.
Funnily enough, I had my eye set on the 50% discount that was put on ArmA II: CO, but also missed the notice that it would only last for a week. A nasty surprise I got when the item I had saved to a cart turned back into the original price after a couple of days.

Luckily enough, the recruitment pack came along. So I still got the game, along with two more, for around the same discounted price ($13). But I have to agree with the other complaints: having those e-mail reminders around about how the sales for some of the games ended earlier would've brought more sales instead of unpleasant surprises.
