Birthday fun and gifts (for you!)
GOG.com 5th birthday celebration continues, and we came up with some fun activities essential to every nerd party in the universe. Namely, we want to play some trivia with you! There will be prizes, of course, because there have to be gifts in a birthday celebration. Since it is our party, you get to keep the gifts! We wouldn't have it any other way. But, just to make it more fun, you'll have to put some effort into getting them. For the next couple of days (let's say: until Sunday), we'll post a daily activity for you. A quiz, a puzzle, some trivia--you know: fun stuff. Each day you'll get a chance to prove your gaming knowledge and familiarity with GOG.com for a chance to get some free games. Our activity of choice today: word search!

UPDATE:
We got word from our support, that some users aren't sure where they should send the answers. Let's pretend that finding the e-mail address on the picture below is a little warm-up exercise before the actual word search. If you can't handle that task, there's probably not much point in wasting your time looking for the 40 titles. And one more thing: we didn't notice it ourselves, but there's actually 41 hidden titles in the picture (apart from the highlighted "FEZ"). That's because one of the longer ones contains another one, shorter. Still--we don't expect more than 40, and that gives you a bit of an advantage.

GOG.com Birthday Word Search

You've got time until Thursday, September 26, at 14:59PM GMT. That's 24 hours. Have fun! :-)

korell: Wrong subject may well have been the cause. They did say to use email subject: SEARCH
Guessing some automation or filter was in place.

All the time that I lost...

well, guess it happens. ;p
:-( Me too - not happy...
Thanks, GOG, for 4 free games! (I shamelessly used my code to get "Bard's Tale", which includes the 3 classic games. ;) ).

I was lucky that I was online right when the contest started. I do feel a bit sorry for the fellow forum members who perhaps needed less time than me to solve the riddle, but had no chance to be among the 40 insta-wins simply due to different time zones. GOG, would it perhaps be possible to announce such a contest a day earlier - i.e., write something on the homepage like "watch this space tomorrow from 18:00 GMT onwards"? That would allow more people to spot such an event in time. And from the past years, I didn't get the impression that you're particularly adverse to making announcements - are you? ;)

But now, excuse me while I go on a quest for coins and cleav... ahem, save the world, of course! :)
I see some of you sent the answers at 17:xx GMT.
I think the contest started at 18:00 GMT. How could you send you mail before that?

That's strange, I saw the announcement 5 minutes after it was posted (it only had 2-3 replies). I remember it was 18:05 GMT (20:05 Romania time).
Can anyone confirm?

I'm not sure about the actual time, but the riddle may have been on the main page before the forum thread appeared. Note tfishell's question in his first post. I think front page news don't appear in the forum until someone replies to them.

I sent with "5th Birthday Trivia: Round One" as subject...
How can I be so stupid? ;p
I'm afraid that 'FTL' is not the title of a game. It should be 'FTL: Faster than Light'.
Excuse me, I found the word Myst but I believe it was written as Mist so I dismiss it as not one of the game listed.

Not realizing ARMA is all my fault though.
when is going to gog explain winners of draw?? or explianed and ı dont know??

You let other people took the prize. That's not a bad thing to do. :)

No email from GOG until this time, I guess I'm not lucky....

That's not the bad part, I guess...

the problem is the time spent on the thing..
Don't get me wrong.. it was fun. For the first 30, then was just eyestrain.

anyway, my mistake.
(the worst thing is that it probably would not even get on the draw! lol, just thought about that....)
