We're giving away 100 games a day to our users to celebrate our 5th birthday!
For the last 5 years we've been doing our best to bring the best games in history to your home computers. Now, we're celebrating our birthday, and we want you--our users--to have a blast! That's why for the next five days we'll be giving away 100 games a day via our different channels (the forums, social media, YouTube). The details of each giveaway will be revealed on day to day basis, so make sure to drop by daily and see what are we up to.
Today, we've planned something special for our followers. Here's what you need to do to enter the 100 free games draw: First, you need to [url=http://j.mp/followGOGonYT]follow the GOG.com channel on YouTube. Do you know our weekly guide to new releases, promos, and special features, This Week on GOG? The show returned to your screens after the summer break last Friday. The second requirement to enter the draw is to leave a comment under the recent episode:
<iframe width="590" height="443" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/j_XfpcLJE2U?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
What kind of comment? Well, The Enigmatic T, who voices the show, happens to be extremely vain. Write an original compliment about his voice. That will be the second, and final thing you need to do. Just please, no obscenity. Out of all the people who do this, we'll pick 100 users who will be sent a $9.99 gift-code (via YouTube PM).
You have time until tomorrow, that's Thursday, October 3, at 2:59PM GMT to enter the giveaway, as at that time we'll be moving to another communications channel with a new set of rules.
EDIT:

Have you participated in one of our 5th birthday contests, but are still waiting for its conclusion? We're a bit overwhelmed by the number of entries, as this is the ongoing biggest series of giveaways in the whole of GOG.com history. Please be patient, well sort it all out, eventually, and everyone who was lucky enough to win something will be notified. Sorry for the delay!

Just made my comment! But yeah I'm not liking the new requirement of having to use your real name. How I long for simpler days when I could mock and flame with impunity. :'( DAMN YOU GOOGLE!!!

Cavalary: Just ignore those requests? Say you don't want to use your real name, then close the next page from the X in the corner. Works for me, just says it'll ask me again later, which it sure does, but gives me I think at least a week between requests.
avatar
Foxhack: It won't let me click the X.

I've tried. It doesn't work.
It's let me close the requests too, but I had to hit next to where it showed my username/full name and then click the X.
I setup different youtube accounts with different emails for a reason, not my fault that business merges has brought them all together, I don't really want them all in one.
The timbre of the voice has a certain "Retro" feel to it, which is a big plus in my book. This could be even more amplified if Enigmatic T would bring a little more calmness / slowness to it. Looking forward for more.

Requirement? It asked me whether I wanted to use my real name or the nickname I use. I of course used my nickname since I have no intention of putting my real name out there in front of a bunch of hacking kids. So yeah, I hope you didn't miss the option to use a nickname when it was offered.
How can you give the right cupon when gog name and youtube name aren't the same?

le_chevalier: The voice that can make the sirens ashamed and fall silent....
The voice that will be missed by thousands pair of ears every week....

I am unsure how, G-Doc, but at some point I will make you pay for this. You will rue the day!

Begin rue-ing now, actually. It is never too soon to rue.

I never got the option. I closed the comment and tried again but nothing. From what I have heard It's because I have a Google+ account. I read on a tech site (Not sure which one, Techcrunch I think) that their planning to implement on everyone to try clean up the comments of trolls and people making threats or something. I believe this to be true cause a lot of people are having conflicting results (you get option / I didn't) This is my first time dealing with it since they started doing it so you should take everything I just said with a grain of salt Because I just heard about it a couple days ago and haven't looked into it since. As for the hacking I'm not really worried. If they did I would just make another account. I'm probably going to make another one under an alias if possible anyway. I'll Probably look into all this more tomorrow. I just hope if in the off chance I do win that GOG won't reveal our real names in connection with with our GOG usernames. Maybe we could still remain anonymous on here At least . :-)

I for one have the whole time thought that "TheEnigmaticT" has always been a totally cool marketing guy , but as for this socalled "GOG.com 5th Birthday Giveaway" then it seems to more take shape of "GOG.com 5th Birthday Promotion Show (with some Giveaway)".
I think that GOG ought to have come clean from the start and explained GOG's need for raising awareness about GOG's social media site activities. But personaly then I refuse to have to use FaceBook , Twitter , Youtube , whatever, for obtaining information that I subscribe to email newsletter(s) to get.
I will abstain from expressing myself further here as I am getting rather negative because of all of this.

I have bought rather many games here , I *do* supportt GOG by promoting GOG whenever I find it appropriate. Also I think that we all ought to support the DRM free consept in a time where huge companies are trying to tighten the DRM grip tighter each day.... However I refuse to do what I am asked to do here...

I can understand how you feel. I don't like to use twitter or anything but to help GOG out ( and to get a free game) I did. The only thing that really bothered me was having only 20 winners and the draw. Both you had to be one of the first to enter so if you got there late there wasn't any point. This I believe gog realized and changed. But really this is about them not us. Their not forcing anybody to participate just those that want to. A lot of people practicly live on social media so asking them is just a drop in the bucket to them. If you don't want to do it that's fine, again I know how you feel, just keep
in mind that their just trying to build the site by adding new members. Something that may help us too when they go to negotiate for new games.:-) But for now just revel in the glory which is GOG :-)
Done, but I'm really bad at this kind of things, sorry TET. ;P
Commented with a G+ account connected with my YT account, which is connected with my regular Google account. It gets more and more confusing. But I don't have a G+ account with my real name! At least I think I don't have one...
How ia GOG going to link the youtube identity with the gog id in order to identify the winners?

They won't. They'll PM the youtube account, not the GOG account.
