A few weeks ago, there was a promo, where we could pick up omerta with all its DLC. When we bought that one, will this be included for free (like because we bought the "full edition") or do we have to purchase this one?
no comment XD

Pretty sure you'll have to buy this one.

Then in a year it gets added in for free, yeah right.
Relevant :p
Reminds me of the time i bought a Dawn of War 'diamond collection' from CDP, a few months later they released another expansion, not so diamond anymore. Or Tropico 4, once the DLC storm was over, i bought it on a sale, and they released a new one just a week later. I'll wait for DLC'ed games to get a "complete" edition before buying.

Aside from declining sales figures, daily deals/inclusions in indie bundles are often motivated by an upcoming expansion pack/DLC. Such tactics are designed to appeal to the completionist urges of certain gamers.

This game was on the Christmas shopping list. Will skip now until a complete edition shows up.

That's a fair question. Sadly, the answer is: no. At the time of the promo, we didn't know about the developers' plans for this large expansion pack. Otherwise, we wouldn't have implied that the edition offered then is "complete".

I bought 'Europa Universalis III Complete', but then they released two full-fledged add-ons. They still sell EU III Complete, but the actual complete edition is EU III Chronicles. :)

Yeah, that's how i got Tropico 4. It pissed me off at first, but i was the only to blame really. But how do we make sure a certain edition is the 'final' one, and the game is 'done'?

Though, the "diamond" and "gold" editions was a pretty standard CDP term for the be all end all complete editions, DoW was an exception as it later turned out. [i just checked, the DoW was marked as "gold collection"], three dvd cases and a few booklets bound in a neat cardboard box.

Despicable marketing tactics. Thanks for the info i'll keep in in mind if i ever get the urge to buy EU3. ;)

Well, let us hope that we here at GOG are now well accustomed to DLC and this wont cause the internet to explode again. (and also hope this DLC is of good value).

I feel that our collective attitude to Omerta has warmed up a little since the days it was the most hated game on GOG. It's certainly sold well since. And I think it sold at a decent pace during the insomnia promo.
Curiously is The Japanese Incentive a stand-alone expansion? The game page doesn't say anything about requiring Omerta... but maybe that should be self-evident.
