Demon burgers, best served hot!

Painkiller Black Edition, a traditional and classic FPS with non-stop action, legions of butts ready for kicking, great arsenal of badass weapons, and hellishly stylish visuals, is available 60% off today on GOG.com. That's only $3.99 for the next 24 hours!

Remember the time when shooting swarms of demonic beasts was a synonym of great, uncompromising fun? The time of games with no covers, no complex tactics, no elaborate dialogue, no touchy-feely cutscenes? Oh, how fun it was just to blast through the hordes of vile monsters, leaving a steaming pile of lead-filled bodies behind you. Good memories! Let's go back to that time of bliss.

Painkiller Black Edition offers you a great selection of impressive action-packed levels, a huge collection of original guns, and swarms of masterfully crafted monsters just waiting to be burned, mutilated and dismembered. You're up against the hordes of hell, and some of the beasts you'll encounter are big as a building. Just imagine how satisfying it will be to blast them back to where they came from! The Black Edition includes the main campaign, as well as the Battle out of Hell Expansion.

There's nothing in this world and next, that should stop you from cheerful demon-slaughter in Painkiller Black Edition, for only $3.99 on GOG.com! The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 30, at 9:59AM GMT.

HiPhish: Meh. I played through the first "episode" and it was rather boring. You crawl slowly like a slug through levels that are dark and your flashlight is useless until the game locks you into a bubble and starts throwing tons of enemies at you. Those parts can be fun, but they go on for way too long it starts getting boring. I feel like the guys who made painkiller played a lot of old shooters and decided to make their own "old-school" shooter without really looking what made those old games really fun in the first place, instead relying on nostalgia or something.

EDIT: Forgot to mention the bunnyhopping. If you want to get any decent walking speed you need to hop around like an idiot. That's stupid, bunny hopping is just an exploit from how old game shandled their vector math, why would you make exploit abusing an integral part of your game?
my thoughts exactly

I bought the game only because of that "review". I doubt I'll ever play it, but .. it shoots shirukens and lightening!

DarkoD13: Any chance we'll see the rest of the Painkiller games here?
I certainly hope not.

Well duh, rocket jumping was also an exploit discovered by the community. You telling me that it was a dumb move for developers to officially support that maneuver in later multiplayer FPS games? Or what about duck jumping? Also a bad idea?

Not one of those again... See, when I play an FPS I want to run around and shoot stuff. Forcing me to constantly tap the space bar is just stupid, why not just take that speed bonus and add it to my regular movement speed? This isn't rocket jumping that's used only when it makes sense, I need to bunnyhop all the time if I don't want to go back so snail speed. It doesn't even require any skill, it's just one stupid extra thing you have to do. I just want to get from A to B so I can shoot more things.

I have played it through a couple of times now, and did not even know this was possible... or even needed... The speed is fine, in my opinion.

I think People can fly should send Yahtzee a briefcase full of money for this review. I'd bet that a lot more people heard of this game because of him!
Although this is not the best game ever invented, it is good for wasting a few hours.
The levels are broken up by the small rooms and there are plenty of fun enemies and guns to play with.

P.S. does anyone think that TheEnigmaticT and Yahtzee look similar?

And it best be delivered up his arrogant ass.
The gem you don't wanna miss.
I think I should play this game sometime. Maybe after Far Cry 2 and Wheel of Time. I only ever played the demo years ago, I think. Back then my PC was a bit too slow for the game, barely playable.

Here's hoping the "old-skool" gameplay means something like the first two Serious Sam games. Frankly I don't recall that much from the demo, except for some giant boss I fought in it (and I lost).

The level design is top-notch. Every level is unique with different theme and enemies. Beside each level has it's own narrative. I feel it's on par with Serious Sam, both game offer different art direction. Alhough maybe Serious Sam have better, well-placed secrets and easter egg.
I already own it but anyone into FPS is nuts for passing this up for this price. Even if it wasn't that good, which it is, that is still an unreal price. JUMP ON THIS!

And to any single ladies in the audience, feel free to jump on me. :P
I remember that the multiplayer on this one was surprisingly fantastic.
Should I, should I not? Oh boy. I think should I wins.

Here is the Painkiller intro in case anyone is in the same situation I was.
