We're giving away 100 games a day to our users to celebrate our 5th birthday!

For the last 5 years we've been doing our best to bring the best games in history to your home computers. Now, we're celebrating our birthday, and we want you--our users--to have a blast! That's why for the next five days we'll be giving away 100 games a day via our different channels (the forums, social media, YouTube). The details of each giveaway will be revealed on day to day basis, so make sure to drop by daily and see what are we up to.

So, we heard you like puzzles and trivia? Let's have some more of that, shall we? Today, our giveaway is once again forum-based, but requires some gaming knowledge and puzzle-solving skill. We present, the GOG.com B-Day crossword puzzle!

GOG.com 5th B-Day Crossword Puzzle

As you may have noticed, this isn't your regular crossword puzzle. You'll need not only guess what the correct words are, but also where do they go in the diagram. If you manage to get enough of them right, you'll be able to figure out the secret password. Send an email with the said password with the subject line CROSSWORD to contest@gog.com. Out of all the people who do this, we'll pick 100 users who will be sent a $9.99 gift-code.You have time until tomorrow, that's Friday, October 4, at 2:59PM GMT to send us your answer and enter the giveaway, as at that time we'll be moving to another communications channel with a new set of rules.

EDIT:
Have you participated in one of our 5th birthday contests, but are still waiting for its conclusion? We're a bit overwhelmed by the number of entries, as this is the ongoing biggest series of giveaways in the whole of GOG.com history. Please be patient, well sort it all out, eventually, and everyone who was lucky enough to win something will be notified. Sorry for the delay!

Managed to guess my way through this, even though I still have no idea what half of the titles I guessed have to do with the clues given.
Still, very fun challenge. Out of all of the giveaways GOG has done, I enjoy these crossword giveaways the most. 8)
Fun one. I couldn't find one of the titles, although when it was the only one left, the letter was obvious. Still, I wonder what game it was.
Ahoy GOG powers!

When producing images like this, please consider that not all of our eyes are at 100%. Fuzzy tiny, grey text against a fuzzy grey background isn't easily read even by the best of us. Also consider that people working on puzzles often print them, and for the same reasons, this page doesn't print well. Your primary goal when delivering information like this should be legibility.

All that aside, thanks for the puzzle!
Gosh dangit, I spent too much time figuring out "the cat was horny" heheheh. Thanks GOG, I had a good time solving your crossword :)

Balious: Strangest crossword I seen since it doesn't tell me which hint is for which numbered word.
I believe it is called a "French crossword" ...at least here in Germany.

DProject: Sent. I hope only the password was required, as there were two titles I couldn't figure out (the cat was horny & selected). I got enough letters to figure out the password out though even without knowing those last two titles.
I figured out the reason for all answers but "selected!" Ironically, the only game I found that fits there was the first answer I guessed -- incorrectly-- for another question and made it possible for me to solve the rest of the puzzle. Maybe it's one of those where you have to have played the game to understand the reference.

Same deal with another answer -- I guessed one game, but that game was actually the answer for a different clue in the same section.

Interesting puzzle. I only played two of the games out of the twelve on it, and both of those for less than 30 minutes. In neither case was that enough to recognize the game as the solution.
Always fun trying to figure these out. I am pretty iffy on a few of the answers, but I believe I figured out the password so here is hoping for the best!
I'm missing one word, but I sent it because it seemed fairly obvious which one was the missing letter.

Still, I do hope GOG show us the solution tomorrow, since I can't for the life of me figure out which game the clue "selected!" is supposed to be.

No idea why "selected!" is what it is, though there's only one game that can fit in there. About "the cat was horny", well, once you'll figure it out you'll say "nice touch" :)

I think the clue selected! is for second game down from right to left. Which leaves "the cat was horny" for the game that no one is finding, but if you alredy guessed the missing letter, you have two for this game, and there is only one game in the catalog that matches that...
Aaaand sent. Took me less than half an hour, including time spent trying to set up a graphics program and struggling with mspaint. I still can't match four of the games to their respective hints.
Just sent mine in. Wasn't much guessing with the order really, seemed fairly obvious. All answers done and password sent in. :) Also attached my crossword too, not that it is needed.
Sent. This was a nice challenge! Very enjoyable and clever.

And it is cool that you changed it to be 100 winners a random draw and removed the race.

Thanks GOG!
Hey, GOG!

I´ve just noticed you had forgotten to remove those golden little heads from Spelunky challenge! They are still in Gemini Rue picture and maybe all the others :)
Sent, wasn't as difficult as I had originally feared. I wonder what significance the password holds...

I have to say that in some instances that process of elimination had to guide me to certain answers as a few of the hints were too vague to be of use ("selected!" I'm looking at you... I think I know what the connection to its game answer is but I would disagree that that... ahem, is the correct word used for the game...)
