Shadowcat: Expiry dates for gift vouchers are wrong. They're just wrong. Don't do it. Stop doing it!!
Issuing licenses for games can be a tricky business. Remember, GOG isn't selling of stocks of games they have bought from wholesalers, but every sale must be done under a proper licensing agreement. Maintaining an expiring date on those codes gives them some needed security.

And I'm pretty sure GOG will give you a no-fuss refund if they cannot redeem a gift code anymore.

If there is one thing GOG always stayed true about, its there extremely user friendly billing support.

I don't see how. Either GOG have the rights to issue the licence at the time the voucher is redeemed, or they don't.

If they do, there's absolutely no reason for them to inconvenience the user (or worse, cause them to abandon the process entirely!) by telling them that their gift has expired.

If they don't have the rights, the expiry date is still useless, because GOG still need to account for any (still-valid) unredeemed vouchers purchased within the past year, and that problem is exactly the same when you remove the expiry dates altogether.

As far as I can see, the expiry date just doesn't enter into it.

And if the license can be dealt with at the time of sale rather than when the gift is "redeemed" (and ideally it should be, IMHO), then none of the above should be a factor, as purchasing a gift would be no different to purchasing the game for yourself.

Contact support because I can still download it.
Can someone confirm/deny whether this will run on an Intel 950 GMA video card? If it will, I'll pick it up.
Sad to see it go.
GOG staff, you should treat this accident as news on top of site.

I cannot say 100% but 99%. I played similar games on my old GMA950 WinXP laptop.
Like Half Life or FarCry (even on full settings), Chaser and even Half Life 2 (until Source Engine changes in 2010) etc.
Even if you cannot play it on you current laptop, you can on your next.

It should work, since it's a pretty old game already (released in 2003 if i recall correctly).
I remember picking this game up from gamestop for PC after it'd been reduced to $30. Must've been early 2004 or so. The graphics are slick, the gunplay is okay, the required stealth parts suck, and the terrible auto-save system is just... well, for me it was game-ruining.
yeah

Robette: On a sidenote: I joined only a few weeks ago and I already find it very... troublesome how official statements lack visibility on this forum... stuff like this should be stickyed or probably have a separate section like 'official statements' or the likes...
Dear GOG,

How about a 75% off sale on XIII tomorrow as a way for everyone to say goodbye?

Indeed. I don't even know why I rebought it here on GOG earlier this year. Other than its style there's very little noteworthy about the game. After I've played a few levels again I just called it quits. It just isn't that good.

It sucks to have another game pulled due to a licensing dispute, but fortunately I don't consider this one to be that big a loss.

MDyzzle: XIII will be removed from our catalog at the end of 2012.

It will NOT be removed from your accounts, but you will not be able to buy it anymore.
Darn it, right after I've spent my money off on other games. I had this on my wishlist for some time now but somehow kept pushing it back. Now that its time is running out, my only possible salvation is via giveaway. :/

As Fuzzyfireball said - contact support, because they didn't remove the game from our accounts.

Maybe your problem is because you never downloaded it, but that's just a guess.
