Delixe: Awesome! Brad Wardell himself is now talking to me on twitter. He is claiming Stardock have one price for their games converted to local currency. I hit him with the Elemental LE €74.99 price tag. Can't wait for the reply.
shiiiiiiiit. that's nuts. I had no idea pricing was like that.
He claims they sold Impulse because precisely it was their most profitable unit, and they wanted to take Impulse to the next level, they needed a retail partner which would allow them to focus on their technology.

Riiight... And if you actually believe that, I've got a castle in Spain to sell you.
Since when does selling something to somebody else actually makes them a "partner"?

It does rather erode the 'publishers are evil' argument doesn't it? Valve are now doing the same with Portal 2. €44.99 even though the UK price is £26.99

KavazovAngel: Its down to 34 EUR right now.
In your region. Remember Valve class Europe as rich and poor. I happen to live in what Valve consider rich Europe so I have to pay 10 euros more than you.

Yep. Load up a proxy in Ireland or France or Spain and look at the horrors Valve will inflict on you wirh prices. Call of Duty: Black Ops €59.99, yeah that's going to happen.

Really. That's why I never buy anything from Steam except when it's on a huge sale.
It's nothing new, though. Western Europeans (except the British, for some reason) have always been considered cash cows by American and Japanese game companies. We've had to pay more for consoles and games (usually about 30% more) from as far as I can remember.

Fuck that, man... Bah! Really getting pissed of by all these US companies. GG is not really better much either.
Anyone wants to team up and start a DD service? :D

Digital Distribution was supposed to elimintate that. The trouble is Publishers got there first and have made digital more expensive than retail which makes no sense to anyone.
