It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

sloganvirst: Can't it just like when I install something it adds a shortcut that would normally go on the start menu to the start screen, except be a proper tile instead of just the little icon?
avatar
Elenarie: Nope.
I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing.

I mean like ordinary x86 Windows 8/ Pro Start Screen tiles, like if I right click something on my desktop I can pin to start, etc.

Except when you do that, you only get the 32x32 size tiles for desktop.

I assume you are talking about Windows 8 RT for tablets?

EDIT: Whoops, nevermind, you clarified in above post.

I know you already edited the post, but anyways, I understood you correctly. :) Still the same, you cannot make a live tile that way.
Until GOG do something, would it be possible to create something similar with this?

What exactly is a live tile? Is that the one that changes to show you up to date stuff like the news one?

I think OP just wanted static tiles, that functioned like shortcuts. I think. Perhaps I had better check.

Bad dog! Bad!
Why pay for Pin Steam, when there is the free Metro App "Steam Launcher"?

And to Elenaire: Not everything is "function". It's nice to have some aesthetics too. I know I can just type the app name, and that's even what I do, but I still whant the pretty tile in my home screen. Just compare in the attached screenshot.

Would it be possible to use the images GOG is using in the current main page as the icon for Win8 start menu? You can grab them from this thread, though not sure if/how you can add them to the start menu.
Also, only 180 images are currently available.
