Just started to follow this thread. I now have a laptop with Windows 7 on so interested.
I offer this thought/solution to people about compatibility, I use VMWare Workstation a lot and version 7 HAS 3D video support and seems to work very well..
Not cheap, and hard to justify the cost for games, but as I use it for other things, well worth it.
With regards to Linux etc, I have DOSBOX compiled and running and have managed to use nearly all my gog games on Ubuntu no problem.
I also use VMware to run some games that don't work that well on Win7. I'm running windows 7 64 bit on my laptop and the only game I've had a problem with is Fallout 2. There is a freeware version of VMware out there that you can use. Though you'll still need a copy of XP. I'm enjoying GOG and am looking forward to more DRM free games. Happy gaming.
