It has been in 'Beta' for a year now. When will it actually be finished? And don't say SoonTM.

Well soon™ is the only answer. There is no news or post indicating anything about the time it will be finished. Only recent news we got is about some more features coming for testing sometime soon™

The gog galaxy will be finished when the steam universe will have receded.

Software like Galaxy is never finished, not while GOG is still in business. However when will Galaxy have a release candidate... who knows. Steam in comparison stayed in beta for a few years before it had a release version.
