I'm gonna break out of the obvious ones--X-Com and JA2--and offer a hidden gem of one of my other favorite turn-based games: Missionforce: Cyberstorm.

Why? I dunno. Very short upgrade cycle (every other mission or so) with giant stompy robots. What's not to like?

Sielle: Didn't you get a monkey in a tube as one of your pilots in that game?
You did. The monkey was awesome but, alas, dies of old age quickly.

cschock: You and I may be the only two people ever to have bought that game. I loved that game. I must now go find my copy in the garage and see if I can get it to work on Win 7. Instabuy on GoG if you release it, just saying!
Last time I tried to run it--Vista, I think--it had no problems.

Man, I need to figure out a way to install it on my Transformer TF101. That would rock.
