Thanks for the post robotgoblin.
It's great isn't it! That's one of the reasons I like making posts like this, I like to see what other people think about the games I like, and find all the gems of games that they think up which are related :D.

It seems like one of the most popular is Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which is one of my favourite turn-based games!

Looking forward to trying some of the others mentioned, too :D
UFO:Enemy Unkown/X-COM: Terror fromh the deep

and the best tbs (imho) is - SPELLCROSS!!.....not very known but i recommend it to every who likes tbs games and i guarantee you will be satisfied!:-)
Arcanum, because it's Arcanum.

Honorable mention goes to Fallout and Heroes of Might and Magic II (which is way better than 3!).
either incubation or xcom apocalypse two of the all time greatest turn based strategy games

I'm going to go against the grain, and say Homm4. I know a lot of people didn't care for this version, but personally I loved it. I loved being able to use my hero as my main character, plus I thought the stories were done a lot better than in the previous versions.

Civ 4. Probably the best true turn-based game ever made.

King's bounty (both the new one and the original). Sometimes I like not worrying about managing my towns, and just focusing on the exploring / fighting. BTW, if you've never played the original you should try and find a copy of it. It is the grand-daddy of so many of today's T-B games.

Bard's tale 1 (the original). So hard, yet so worth the effort.
Probably Master of Magic for me. Dunno why I like it so much :)
