DRM_free_fan: Ahh sorry. (I'd only buy a PS3 if I didn't have a PC for gaming. Personally I would prefer PC over PS3 given the choice...)
Yeah, I've also ALWAYS been a PC gamer... well, not counting the early years on the Amiga. And whenever a game will be available for all three platforms I will pick the PC version, even if the controls in the PC port suck - I have two Xbox 360 controllers lying around for that case. But well, there is quite a few very good console exclusives which I really wanna play and the ability to sit down on the couch and just play in the living room is pretty cool (especially with friends). So I really also want to get at least one console. For now the only one I still have is an Atari 2600. :P

The only console you have is an Atari 2600?! Whoa. I don't know what to say to that... Wanna play Pitfall? :)

Sadly I don't even have that one. I own quite a few other Activision classics, though (with funny and cheesy German labels with titles which have nothing to do with the game). But seriously, as much as I love vintage gaming - there's probably not one Atari 2600 game worth the effort of setting up the console (also I have no idea what I'd need to connect it to an HD TV).
How could a fish understand his world without water, or a bird his life without wings, or a poet without drinking bouts? It is inconceivable and I can't even begin to ponder over such terrible state of affairs.
I'd have so much more free-time to study as my procrastination would have no excuses, but assignments would be more stressful than they already are
Life would truly suck. I would have to socialize with people outside work. I would have to go to Walmart to shop, although I would purchase less because of their crappy inventory. So, more money in the bank account would be a plus. For work having to book hotels would be a pain in the ass; how did people do that before computers? You only have a local phone book not one for Hawaii or Florida.
Definitely more vegging out in front of the TV and more books to read.
Hm. My work would change a lot. But other than that, my life would basically be the same. Actually, I'd probably hear about more social events before they happened if my friends couldn't use FaceBook to set things up.

My physical book collection would be much larger (eBooks FTW). I'm not sure if my CD collection would be much larger actually, because I'd have a harder time looking music up and figuring out if I wanted it.

That's what travel agencies were for. Travel agencies would have branches or contacts in other places that would have access to local phonebooks. Or, you could connect to the exchanges and ask the switchboard people I think? Kind of like 411 in the US where you can call and ask for a phone number or directions.

orcishgamer: there's no end of women who'd happily sit there eating Doritos and killing some shit in Diablo 3 with you. They don't look like the super models...

F4LL0UT: Actually I know a few gaming girls who do. And I don't mean like "they have played the Sims on a Nintendo DS a few years ago". I'm talking about real full-time gamers, the whole nerd package included, girls you could probably pick up online. In fact at least one of them has done model work professionally, I think actually two of them.
I acknowledged as much in my post. One of the hottest girls I know is both a stripper and currently trying to figure out what her costume will be for this summer's Star Trek premiere.

I'm merely saying one can find a SO with similar interests pretty easily, if you're also demanding said SO be a supermodel and independently wealthy as well as have similar interests... well, that's gonna be rarer and that person may not be interested in you should they actually exist.

Finally, I'm still more likely to find a person deeply concerned about their personal appearance and health at the gym than at Comic Con. Obviously counter examples exist, but if you're seriously looking for a particular trait in someone, you might want to hang out where people who share that trait also like to hang out. This is also why I, being an atheist that really doesn't want to spend any time at all on religious concerns, don't tend to pick up chicks at church services.

True. True.

LoL that is funny. Sadly I often see alot of good looking chicks that do the church thing and whatnot, even way back in the day when I had no choice being a JW witness. I definitely have no part of that anymore even although alot of my relatives are still in it. I myself am agnostic and most religious institutes wouldn't accept me anyways. Even if they did, my logical brain would have a mental breakdown =P
