Elmofongo: GTA 3 (on PS2, PC version was actually better if only by half)
Oh no, the PC version is far from being better. I don't know how GTA 3 on the PC ran back in the day, but i just finished GTA 3 on my current PC 2 months ago and it was plagued with bugs and compability issues. Of course, the graphics are better and you can get higher freamrates, but the trade-off isn't worth it, in my opinion.
The first thing that happened to me is that i had to activate an option to lock the framerates, otherwise the game would freeze. So, in the end, i wasn't running GTA 3 any better than the PS2 version, except for the higher resolution.
Another issue was that the aim reticule is out of place if you use a widescreen resolution, even though the game itself does support widescreen modes. Also, it becomes obvious that this game was made with auto-aiming in mind. It just doesn't feel right with manual aiming.
retsuseiba: I don't think I share SimonG's hatred towards indies (just kidding), but Lugaru HD was pretty damn awful.
I thought it was awesome, even though some battles were extremely difficult and required more luck than skill to win.
koima57: this game is horrible, to quote AVGN.. :(
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
StingingVelvet: Rogue Warrior was hilarious though, intentionally or not, so it's a good kind of bad.
That's true, Rogue Warrior was so terrible that it became funny. I actually finished that game.
Fictionvision: This post reminded me of
BMX XXX. Though I never played it, I just heard "It's Tony Hawk on a bike with porn!" and saw it was made by Acclaim. That alone was enough for me to never touch it.
And even then it was really hard to unlock the naked girl.
AFnord: And to confuse things, Rebellion also made a game called Rogue Trooper, which is pretty great. So do check that one out.
Oh yeah, Rogue Trooper is a hidden gem, what a great game it was. The last AvP was made by Rebellion and it was pretty decent as well.
