Navagon: Maybe that's because I was too focussed on being all-out stealthy and non-lethal where possible.
I was too, but when you are spotted, stuck, or whatever it's was sometime funny to go into a deadly take-down rampage for some minutes killing everybody in sight... just before reloading and restarting playing "seriously"

orcishgamer: Boss battle solution: throw 6 frag mines, it's over in less than 10 seconds. Pretend it didn't happen.

This works for every boss until the last one.

dawvee: Or keep a few typhoon charges around. The first boss seriously annoyed me to the point where I quit playing for about half a year. Needless to say, when I picked it back up again, I didn't hesitate in the least to use the "I win" button on those miserably dull and out-of-place sections.

The boss fights were actually the only thing that really bothered me about the game. It wasn't just from a gameplay perspective, either. They also took what was a decent enough story, and temporarily threw it under a bus to crowbar in a few random, cliched characters with no reason for existing aside from "you need to kill the big bad dudes". Really killed the immersion for me.
I was playing Pacifist so I never got Typhoon (maybe when I had nothing else to buy at the very end or something...).

I always play these types of games as the lethal assassin in the shadows, but when I am caught I rarely reload, I usually make a go of it and see if I can get out of the situation.

Yeah, I never uderstood what's fun about flawlessly executing a plan you have made beforehand without anything being actually able to interrupt it.

As long as you can recover, I had a hard time recovering from a shotgun blast to the face:)

I play on the hardest difficulty. Again, takedowns freeze the action for the duration of the animation. Go watch a let's play or something, I'm not interested in arguing about it.

Yeah holographic keypads really make traditional ones obsolete, but guess what, slums probably couldn't afford those, or any of those other fancy things they have. Slums consequently look less like slums. There is a lot of technology out right now that makes a lot of stuff obsolete, but the problem is that it's expensive.

Jet based craft for instance burn through fuel very very fast. Until there is some breakthrough in avioic propulsion systems helicopters and other rotor based aircraft are going to be around for some time.

It's like when firearms were first introduced. For awhile, a sword or bow were still more or equally effective weapons. It's not unreasonable to assume that many technologies or at least variants of them will still be in existence 40 years from now.

When we achieve nanotechnological prowess we will effectively be a god race; immortality, physical perfection, endless technological potential, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that it might take half a century to fully realize this technology. That, and the collapse of the global economy as depicted justify the slow scientific progress.
