This time they've got a whole community site to get hyped for it, new original monsters, and a lower funding goal. I'd really like to see it succeed.

If you're a fan of Godzilla, fighting games definitely worth looking into.

It's funny. I actually saw it while browsing Kickstarted Games, and thought, 'Cool the team's restarted their Kaiju Combat campaign.' Then I realized the full title was 'Kaiju Combat - Giant Monsters. Awesome Fighting. Online.' and thought it was going to be an online-only game, not realizing they had a LAN option in there :P

Yes, I found that out shortly after making that post - very sad to discover but old age seems contagious. :(

His artbooks are still available on his site and via Amazon (Kingsgate and Spellbound on Amazon.co.uk) for those interested.
From what I've seen of the USPS rates, he's just passing their charges on. But for the patient (and those not interested in the limited editions), Amazon, eBay or his web store would seem a better bet.

Sadly, he died of Leukemia at the the age of 47.

A complete artbook (or more of a series) of the older D&D art would be appreciated. I have collected most artbooks of the 70-90's D&D art, and even those books combined are missing a lot of art.

I can see a big reason (apart from Amazon UK perhaps not supporting this the way the US one does, which I'm not sure about). They probably want to open Kickstarter to more countries in the future. They can't count on Amazon providing the service for every country, so they would eventually have to create their own system. Might as well do it now, instead of having another intermediate step.

Also using Amazon is a liability. If the Amazon service fails (which happened a few days ago), Kickstarter can do nothing about it. If pledges don't go through because of Amazon's system, again, Kickstarter is helpless. I'm sure that Kickstarter would rather have its own system over which it has more control. (And of course it could cut itself a larger cut, and optionally give project creators a larger cut.)

I'm not going to dismiss it entirely, despite all the recent nonsense from Peter Molyneux. But. It's gotta be singleplayer. Offline singleplayer. I'm not going to help fund the annoying "everything's got to be multiplayer/social now"-trend.
