Momo1991: Well that's as good an explanation as any :-)

Meanwhile, if I want to find that one, elusive message, I am going to need to go through the over 600 people I have PM'd since I started on the forum... it's kind of a trip down memory lane. There's at least a 100 from Secret Santa last December, tons of other GA recipients, just shooting the breeze...yeah - two years...might take me that long to find that one "new" message.
Hell.... so many contacts. I have only a handful and it's PITA to manage them. In your case I wouldn't hesitate to write to support how the fuck you are supposed to work with this system.

Chimerical: Anyway, I blame the exact number of games that gog gives away for free to everyone. Take one away

VanishedOne: That's reportedly due to happen. Of course, they might add another at some stage...
I was really more hoping they would add one. :-/
GAH! Now I have three unread chat messages - seriously, don't message me!! :-p
*messages momo in a twitter restrictive character structure a final report on the machicavellian nature of GW Bush and all that has surrounded him in regards to policy, action, inaction and stupidity levels.

...oh, sorry!

I tried to PM somebody and it shows my chat message, but not who I sent it to. It just sits there when I click chat. I hope it got to him.

real.geizterfahr: Did the "one message" consist of four lines of text? If yes: There's your four messages ;) Every time someone hits "Enter" and sends you a line of text, you get one new notification.
Ermagerd! That was it! Definitely something they need to fix, but at least now I understand it...

NOOOOOO! no bushit, please!

Ok apparently if I scroll through the gozillion people I have ever PM'd before - and trust me it's a lot... I get a number nex to their name. WTF, GOG? Really - this was your grand improvement? :-(

Wait, did I make it clear? :-( :-( :-(

Gah, goes to scroll more slowly to locate that elusive message.... sighs

Don't even get me started on the relentless "update" notifications that refuse to disappear... really? Are we doomed to have updates haunt us forever and a day?

I give up - not even bothering to try anymore :-p

Chat notifications = major apathy
Sigh - 7 chat notifications now - STOP chatting with me! :-p

I am sure there are six lines from someone (plus the elusive, ever-present one that no amount of searching will ever uncover) but NOW I get the circle of death - it's not quite as bad as the blue screen of death but worse than GOG-bear minions on a ladder!

Let me reiterate - don't chat -period - the - end.

If you really need me, that other site has a functional chat system and I'm really not that difficult to find :-p
I think most of us want the old PM system back. It just made more sense and this current chat is subpar at best. GOG, please bring back the old system!
the so called chat system is terrible , new library is terrible , the site design and layout is terrible wonder what they were trying to achieve with this.

if everything fails i guess we can track back to the time when a user had created a separate gog pm system before gog officially introduced it .

i guess we will soon encounter posts saying " i am not bothered by the above changes as long as there are more games that are drm free its alright "
