HiasX: Whoa, so it really is Frank McRae wielding a gun in one of your pics.
Yep...that's him as Hermann X.
I was afraid that this pic (and the name I gave it) would give the solution away.
Going by your comment, it almost did...but only almost. ;)
clue 2: Geswanouth Slahoot played the main characters "Grandfather"
clue 3

One of the few two-and-a-half hour films of that era to not be shown with an intermission.

Little Big Man, with Dustin Hoffman.

Saw it once, when I was 10 or 11 years old - but never since.
Good movie, as far as I remember.

yep, and it was his (chief Dan George) only oscar nomination, your turn.
I thought, I bring something easy, a.k.a. a real classic...but when taking the screenshots it turned out, because it's such a classic, it's hard to find pictures that don't give too much away right from the start.

So - I have to start with something a little harder: (I'd be surprised, if anyone would recognize the movie by this one (: )

What is this movie?

Not exactly, you are slightly over a decade early.

Dr_Adder: Then i'll guess Animal Crackers.
Same as above. Only you are slightly one and a half decades early.

Edit: hint - the movie has nothing to do with Baseball, despite this pic. ;)

But....but... the film grain suggests 1930s.... :(

Edit: I only know film noir of the '40s, so I doubt I'll know this one.
