I managed to find the game on Mobygames based on a certain keyword mentioned above :-)
But since I do not know the game personally, I think I'll let someone else answer it. Anyway, it is interesting that this game has a Linux version.

EDIT: assuming I am correct, attached is the new picture. I only played the demo of it several years ago, and since there are quite a few of it I will accept the title of the original or one of the sequels.
