Anybody remember/know of Black Oak Arkansas?

If not, they're a southern rock band that was absolutely huge in the 70s (one of the top five highest grossing touring bands for five years in a row) then they broke up and were promptly forgotten about, oddly enough. Well, not each member, their drummer Tommy Aldridge went on to join Ozzy Osbourne, and the singer Jim "Dandy" Mangrum was a major influence on David Lee Roth (who took his entire act from Jim Mangrum) and other frontmen of that era.

Anyway, they "reunited" in the 90s/00s, well Jim and rhythm guitarist Rickie lee reformed it with a few new guys and did some shows and touring, nothing that memorable. However, they put out a new album a year or two ago that's actually really really good (if you're into southern rock). You can check out a few songs from it below.

snowkatt: nico at her most accessible then

nico left to her own devices is fucking terrifying
her version of the end was a tour the force i never want to hear it again but it was a tour de force
Too funny! The accessibility is probably attributed to how creatively close some of the material in Chelsea Girl and The V.U. & Nico was as a result of some of the same names working on it.

Back in the days of The Factory, those Exploding Plastic Inevitable (EPI) events were as much about the visual aesthetics as the music. Given that I'm a former avionics guy can you guess my favorite Lichtenstein? :)

Hello friend! Good call. Lord have mercy on my soul for being somewhat nasty but this Jim Dandy (feat. Black Oak Arkansas) solo effort (NSFW) always made me chuckle in that same vein as David Allan Coe's dirty underground albums (Warning: Highly offensive and NSFW). :)

Guys, if you had the time, please try watching this 'Bioshock: Infinite Tribute - Beast of America' video with the volume muted, while listening to this HLH's music video (the link's provided below) at the same time. Just mute the volume for the bioshock video and play the two videos together. Again, start both at the same time.

Links for the videos:

Just please do not stop watching until the music stops playing. Although there would be some scenes where you guys might feel like they don't fit with the song, there are also scenes where I feel they fit, especially the ending in my opinion.
