A collection of gaming's legends.

This week seems like it's going to be Legen–wait for it–dary. As legendary as the games in our Weekly Sale Vol. 12, including some of Square Enix's most absolutely memorable classics at 75% off.

Every time somebody mentions Deus Ex, someone else makes that damn joke about reinstalling. It's no wonder because the classic entries in this series have earned every right to be placed among the greatest action-RPGs ever. In case you missed it, we recently wrote about Deus Ex: Revision a free and fantastic community mod which not only improves on perfection, but also throws in over 200+ GOG Galaxy achievements to boot.

Recently Hitman has made his way back into the mainstream, and in no small part thanks to the newest entry's understanding of the classic formula. A testament to its timelessness, Contracts and Silent Assasin hold up amazingly even today. If you haven't played them yet – now's your chance!

Even though we haven't heard Legacy of Kain news in ages, the series' best like Blood Omen and Soul Reaver remain memorable and recognizable for their unique tone and intense gameplay. Would we kill for a modern take on Legacy of Kain? We say yes! But try the classics and see for yourself.

It wouldn't be a week without even more games on sale – including Gex, Anachronox, Daikatana and more at 75% off (and stay tuned for more deals this Friday!) in the Weekly Sale Vol. 12, lasting until April 24, 4:00 PM UTC.

Grargar: Gex 3 is a console-exclusive game and I doubt either Square Enix or GOG will entertain the idea of emulation.
Yes, the Gex 3 was planned for PC, but than It was scrapped.

Only Gex 3D (or Gex 2) is available for PC. You need to use a glide wrapper to run/play it on modern PCs.
Just a heads up: Falcon Collection contains Falcon 4.0 as a bonus (not shown in the sceenshots) which is your ticket to the Falcon BMS; the best modern jet fighter combat flight sim in my humble opinion. In case you're wondering what it is/ what does it offer, check out this video.

In case you have more questions about it, please visit their website & forum as i won't be able to reply in a timely manner.

ps. A fair warning: Falcon 4.0 (and BMS) requires much dedication on your part; the learning curve IS steep, the manual(s) are bulky as hell, you'll have a lot of stuff to learn and a hell of a time to learn the controls and it is crucial that you have at least a good quality joystick to start with (if you stick with it, you may later upgrade to a HOTAS plus a head tracking device). Thankfully, there are a lot of resources to help you get started (check out the various tutorials on YT) so if you're not scared by all that, good luck & have fun; the experience can be very rewarding, especially if you're an aviation fan.

*** edit: By the way, did someone change the forum font recently?

You might want to warm people in advance that everything on that website is hidden behind a registration wall.

Yeah, I figured GOG's release of Gex 2 would use nGlide.

Considering it's a legitimate website which offers a (great) product/service completely free of charge, i don't see why should i warn anyone about anything. As for the "registration wall" as you say it, i think it's far for being the truth here; everyone can view the trailer video in the frontpage (which by the way is very helpful, both for new players & veterans of Falcon 4.0 alike, who may never got their hands on the BMS version before) plus neither the FAQ webpage or the System Reqs webpage, the first two informative webpages anyone interested in BMS will want to check out so as to clear up any confusion, are in any way hidden from non-members of the BMS community.

Should the need for downloading the BMS files or asking something that is not covered in the aforementioned webpages arrives, it is true that a registration is required, just like it happens with GOG.com or Nexusmods.com and pretty much any other website/forum out there. ;)

If one can't access to the mod you mentioned; or even get in depth, detailed information and documentation regarding the aforementioned mod; without registering & signing to the forum; in my opinion that means that it is hidden behind a "registration wall". I made no question regarding the legitimacy of the website, why even attempt to imply that I did so?

One can get in depth, detailed information regarding hosted mods from Nexusmods without registering & being signed in. One can read GOG's forum without registering & being signed in.

With all due respect, i believe you have misread/misinterpreted my previous post; under no circumstances did i imply (or even attempted to) that you said anything about the site at all -- i'd kindly ask you to review my post. You made a suggestion ("you might want to warn....") and i clearly & respectfully told you the reason why i didn't even consider to do it in the first place.

As for the registration, the website does not require any and contains the description and all relevant information about the mod & the mod team behind it; pretty much everything an interested/curious user would like to know before downloading the mod. The forum does require registration to be able to use it (and most importantly, gain access to the download links). You may don't like the fact that you must register to another forum to gain access to the data required to enjoy BMS or anything else for that matter and, judging by your previous post (and the term "registration wall", which i find overly dramatic in this case), you may inherently find it bad to not be able to read a forum without registering first, but i'd kindly ask you to not turn this thread into a debate.

What matters here is everyone to enjoy this sim, which is something i sincerely hope. ;)
How's the GOG-version of Requiem: Avenging Angel? I remember this being notoriously difficult to get running on modern systems.

Give me a moment and I will give you my impressions on Windows 10.

Edit: OK, 10 minutes in and aside a random exit to desktop, it runs fine.

Kudos!

PromZA: I don't know if this has been said yet but can you please stop just throwing these things together? It's confusing as hell when you see 3 titles listed together and then the other one way at the bottom. Can at least list them alphabetically.
avatar
muntdefems: What do you mean? The games in the weekly sale? You actually can.
Ok didn't see that. But still don't see why it can't have some sort of default order like the games page instead of "recommended" which makes no sense. Some games are grouped together but then you find another one in the series way down which looks like it was just thrown in there.
Have the weekly sales always lasted this long? As of my post, it will be available for another 11 hours. It will end up overlapping with the next weekly sale for quite a while.

Or is this a hint that a larger sale is incoming?

They usually overlap for about 5-6 hours.

Oh, then I guess everything is normal.
