Every story has a beginning, just like every good game has a classic counterpart. Before Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, there was Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption, before Riven we had Myst. It’s fun to know that our favorite game has an older sibling, which can give us as much entertainment. That’s why this Weekend Sale centers around old but gold games and their counterparts up to 89 % off. Sale lasts until 18th November 2019, 2 pm UTC.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (-45%) is a roleplaying game based on the famous tabletop title. As the iconic bloodsucking creature in the early XXI century Los Angeles, you venture into the dark world of horror and intrigue. If you like the atmosphere of this game, you should also check out its older counterpart, Vampire: The Masquerade – Redemption. The third part of this series will premiere in the spring of 2020.

realMyst: Masterpiece Edition (-50%) is a game made for the 20th anniversary of the award-winning adventure saga. Visit the Myst Island, a place of full mysteries and puzzles. If you like the game for its unique atmosphere, seek out other titles from the Myst series, also available in this week’s Weekend Sale.

Worms World Party Remastered (-75%) is a fun strategy title, that’s simply a must-have for all the party gamers. Choose one of the worm squads and obliterate enemies with an almost limitless arsenal of deadly weapons. Since the series created by Andy Davidson is with us for more than 20 years, this Weekend Sale will also include a few other Worms installments.

That’s not all! Check out other classic game series, like Dungeon Keeper, Ultima, and Thief. They will give tons of fun more than once.

schmoemi: Btw... what's Alpha Centauri doing on that list?? What might (as it's obviously not part of a classic game series) be its counterpart?

teceem: The "spiritual successor" of AC is not on GOG.... so no idea.
We have Pandora - First Contact here... would be my best guess... I think...

I hadn't heard of that one before! Looks pretty nice to be only 604 MB...

It has a lot of Alpha Centauri good sides, in a nice modern easy-to-grasp interface.
The only parts of Pandora: First Contact that disappointed me are the diplomacy, too simple and seemingly random, and the writing, because you can’t beat Alpha Centauri on this front ;)

The small size of the game itself is actually mostly due to the development team doing a very good job.

In my ~30 years of gaming, I've yet to come across any diplomacy in 4X games that actually is good or engaging. It has always been the genre's weak point when it comes to playing AI opponents.

Mr.Mumbles: (…)
I guess Pandora: First Contact developers would agree with you. In their next game they fully dropped diplomacy to focus on warfare.

A lot of good games in this sale. But unfortunately there's not much left to buy for me.
We need more good old games on GOG!

If I had money I would buy these :

Day of the Tentacle Remastered
Myst III: Exile
Myst IV: Revelation
Myst Masterpiece Edition
Syndicate Wars
X-Com: UFO Defense
Well turns out Ultima IX is not that bad once you got the gist of the UI and controls.

TheMonkofDestiny: URL isn't exactly SFW, for people browsing in an environment where such things might get questioned.
Tbf many posts on Gog are full of things kids shouldn't see or read anyways, and that link is somewhat tame.
(Also you forgot to edit it our of your reply ;))

(To all: This is not me saying for people to post such on the forums)

tfishell: Looks like a solid sale.

Besides recommending Pajama Sam Vol. 1 and 2 from the other sale, I'll recommend System Shock 2 from this one.
One can't go wrong much with SS2, imo.

Many posts don't contain full frontal nudity. You know exactly why I brought it up and whether it's tame or not is not the reason.

I also didn't edit it out of my reply intentionally because I don't find it to be so objectionable that it needed to be removed from the original response in the first place (that was the other user's choice), just that a fair warning needed to accompany it. The actual content in the post it leads to about GOG not selling the vanilla version of Bloodlines is useful information, after all.

Because it could come up in the search results/etc for gog and make them look bad? Or get the user posting it in trouble(as per the bit below)?

Fair enough...I thought you posted that due to being against such things/on gog, and if wrong then sorry for that.
Myst series both in the weekend and weekly sale? What gives. Is this how it's going to be from now on?
