70-75% off Total Annihilation, Men of War, Massive Assault, Blitzkrieg and more.

"A military operation involves deception. Even though you are competent, appear to be incompetent. Though effective, appear to be ineffective." "Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look on them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death." These, and many others, are words that you will live by when engaging this weekend's collection of some of the greatest, most varied strategy titles on GOG.com. It's our DRM-free StrataGems at 70-75% off!

Total Annihilation is one of the most historical RTSes ever to be released, standing toe to toe with other legends of the genre. It's a game that back in 1997 introduced a scale so massive that few games manage to replicate it to this day. Faces of War and the Men of War series will teach you about the unbreakable bonds of war. Instead of massive number-based battles, you'll be controlling a relatively small squad of soldiers - each one simulated in detail, even allowing you to take direct control for the more precise maneuvers. And then there's Massive Assault, a game of turn-based tactics and true deception from the creators of World of Tanks. In this game, your success will not depend on your reaction time or clicks per minute, you will never go into battle uncertain of its outcome. Everything is consistent and laid out on the table from the start. The question is, how will you play your cards?

Plan, deceive and strategize in this weekend's promo: StrataGems! With over 30 games at 70-75% off, you can truly earn your place among the greatest generals in the history of mankind. The promo will last until Tuesday, August 4, 3:59 AM GMT.

Leevi: I'm boycotting Russian economy. Hopefully when this offer comes again the Russian people have a saner leadership.
This is ridiculous, especially because some of the developers are not even Russian.
I really hope we see Sudden Strike on gog on day. I really liked Blitzkrieg, but I felt that something about Sudden Strike made it feel more, well, real.
How are the Massive Assault games? Do they have windowed mode?

I remember the first one does .
Really nice promo!

Some good stuff in there and certainly an excellent price.

zeffyr: To Men of War gamers - how is this game compared to Company of Heroes series? I absolutely love CoH games (especially CoH 2) and I wonder if MoW series would suit me? What are the main similarites/differences?
I only vaguely remember CoH but it was similar to Codename Panzers wasn't it? Soldiers/Faces Of War/Men of War are a more detailed and challenging but less polished version of them. Faces of War is probably the closest in the series, it shares the same mechanics but has a more cinematic choice of missions than Men of War - although Men of War is the better game. There is a Men of War demo, although I can't vouch for compatibility.

Men of War, Space Rangers and Total Annihilation are the three big titles in the sale. Well worth trying any you haven't already.
Excellent promotion, GOG.

For anyone with extra coin that enjoys the genre, this would be a great time to wipe some items off your wishlist.

I played both Phase 1&2 of Codename: Panzers (awesome games, Phase 2 still rocks!) and I have to say that CoH games are more complex and give more options tactic-wise. So, does MoW focus more on micromanagement of units then on macromanagement of a whole army?

amrit9037: I recently won a 20$ giveaway.
What games should I get from current promo?
avatar
zeffyr: None, I hope.
lol
Should I go back to my ship?
Or am I again accused to be a scammer?
avatar
Impaler26: I already own all the good games in this promo. Money saved. :D

I own some on Steam and some on GOG. :P
Just bought Soldiers: Heroes of World War II. Let's hope it's decent (and not punishingly difficult on Easy setting). =)

That's one off the wishlist. Only 30 more to go!

Providing an explanation would be nice, as I haven't seen one in that thread.

An explanation for 2 years old comment? Ok.
I gave one on original thread. But Don't know if it fits here.
Please help yourself.
