The Vast Universe of Might and Magic on GOG.com is filled with all-time classics with a 50% discount. If you have anything important to do in coming days, please reschedule, because such favorites as Heroes of Might and Magic III or Might and Magic VI will keep you busy, well, forever. The offer doesn’t last forever but only until next Monday, April 9th at 11.59 p.m. EDT.

Heroes of Might and Magic is probably the most recognizable, acclaimed, and legendary of the whole Might and Magic series. It’s a game that set the standard for turn-based strategies for years to come--one may argue that HoMM created a genre of its own, while every fantasy strategy nowadays will be compared to this amazing series. HoMM is a combination of strategy (many opponents, many castles, many heroes), RPG (gathering experience and leveling), resource management (gathering resources, managing armies) and pure awesome, something between the cracks that makes the game so special. It doesn’t matter whether it's Heroes of Might and Magic, Heroes of Might and Magic II: Gold Edition, Heroes of Might and Magic III: Complete, Heroes Chronicles: All Chapters, or Heroes of Might and Magic IV: Complete--each of them is a game so simple to understand and yet so insanely addictive that it will make you want to play “just one more turn” over and over again. If you’ve never played as the Hero, we recommend starting with Heroes of Might and Magic III: Complete Edition--the title considered to be iconic to the series, the magnum opus of 3DO. All the HoMM games on GOG.com are only $4.99 this weekend.

If you already own all of these, you can also pick up Heroes of Might and Magic V Bundle, which includes both of the game’s expansions (Hammer of Fate and Tribes of the East) and more than 170 minutes of soundtracks, an official artbook, wallpapers, avatars, design sketches. Pick Heroes of Might and Magic V up for a limited time together with Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut Edition on a special introductory sale: buy one, get one free for $19.99.

Might and Magic, on the other hand, is a series of RPG games set in the same universe. From the deepest dungeons to the intrigues of the royal court, lead a band of adventurers on a dangerous journey of amazing depth and intelligence. Develop your characters through an unique skill point system and take part in an epic clash between the Ancients. Gather your forces, forge new alliances and destroy all who oppose you. The fate of the world is in your hands!

Might and Magic 6 pack includes: Might and Magic: Book 1, Might and Magic 2: Gates to Another World, Might and Magic 3: Isles of Terra, Might and Magic 4&5: World of Xeen, bonus adventure Swords of Xeen and Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven. After you’re done, get Might and Magic 7: For Blood and Honor, Might and Magic 8: Day of the Destroyer, and Might and Magic 9 to complete the Mightily Magical experience. If you’ve never played any Might and Magic games, we’d suggest you pick up the 6 pack for $4.99 and start with Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven. All Might and Magic games are 50% off only this weekend.

pizzapicante27: what would you say is the better : 6, 7, or 8, Ive heard horrible things about 9 so Ill pass for now.
6 has some goofy and redundant magic in the system but by the endgame your party will be flying over the landscape ruining everyone's shit with laser rifles, meteor bombardment and casting Armageddon. Combat and effective switching between real-time and turn based can take a bit to get used to, but your party will give you the enjoyment of kicking more ass with each level, if you look up or note down skill trainer locations. Oh, and the dungeons are huge, awesome and different. One of the later ones is an "Egyptian" pyramid which has another spaceship pyramid inside it.

7's skill and classes system in not quite so overpowered, which makes leveling more interesting, but the layout of the lands can be a pain in the ass. Unlike 6, MM7 has some moral choice(s), but is still very focused on easy-going genocide of everything that looks at you funny.

8th... they kinda gave up on that one. But you party can have dragons in it.

Don't shrug off the earlier games. At least 4 and 5. They have a lot of exploring and ass kicking in them too.

pizzapicante27: Or should I just let this one pass and wait to be surprised next week????
Also a plan. But will you be able to sleep not knowing the joy of one-shot-ting dragons with a close range "shotgun"y spell or looting the corpse of a 5 story tall giant? Or the fun of beating a game, which doesn't restrict your travels by party level and lets you run head first into things that stomp your wussies in a blink. Mwahahahah

pizzapicante27: Ive been thinking of buying one of the Might & Magic, just to try them, but Ive never played this kind of rpg before (for reference my favorite one is Dragon Age Origins), and my old-school level, make all of the games prior to 6 almost unplayable, so, what would you say is the better : 6, 7, or 8, Ive heard horrible things about 9 so Ill pass for now.

Or should I just let this one pass and wait to be surprised next week????
One of my favourite games of all times is M&M7. I replayed it last year, and as soon as I got past the graphics it was just as fun as it was the first time I played it.

I agree that the games prior to 6 requires a "special taste", and personally I can't make myself play them.

I truly love my M&M 7 castle, and I don't think I've seen anything like it in any other game (after it's fully expanded).
Well, those are some hell of reasons, the giants part and the castle part, I guess Ill give 7 a try

icepowdah: I`m only missing the "good" ones from this one : "CRUSADERS OF MIGHT AND MAGIC" and
"MIGHT AND MAGIC® 9". My OCD says buy buy buy to complete the collection ..... but on the other hand ... it seems that they aren't worth even their weight in fluff ...and I could get a 6$ GOG worthy of that price for the money .... what to do .. what to do :)
Found it. Got the retail copy. I thought it was in-game like HoMM 3 but it was a on the map editor
I remember running into the Warehouse to buy "something" right after Christmas. My dad didn't even come in...first time I got to buy whatever I wanted. I got Might and Magic, the one that started it all.

I couldn't wait to play it then...can't wait now...and it's pay day. :)
