Today, in Warsaw, CD Projekt is holding a conference to sum up the year 2010 and to reveal some of the plans for the upcoming 2011. We'd like to invite you all to watch the live stream of the conference, mainly concerning The Witcher 2, which will start at 12:30 EDT (or 17:30 GMT if you're in the European time zone) at TheWitcher.com and The Witcher Facebook page. There will also be a special GOG.com part with a surprise for all fans of good games! See you there! ;)
Fantastic idea to spend a fair price credit. But I wonder what DLC package GOG's version will include? Tell me that we get everything together and you have a deal. :)
The move to release The Witcher 2 here on GOG without DRM is either friggin crazy or completely cool. Or both. CD Projekt got some balls! Of steel! Steel, I say!
I watched from 12:30 US EST here....and loved it, what I could watch at any rate with my short attention span.

Sidenote: Someone accidentally or intentionally screwed with the wanted list spreadsheet. I reverted it though. If it was an accident ok then....if on purpose then grrrrrrrrrrrrr! I almost had eh heart attack!
I love the fact they're releasing such a high profile game DRM free. I bet they're going to keep a close eye on the inevitable piracy and see how many sales are lost vs a game that is instantly cracked anyway.

eyeball226: You just reiterated what I said. I said $6 for us, not US. :P

Miaghstir: Yeah, I realised that, thus the editline. Which probably wasn't added when you read the post.
Ah yes... it is a stupid and confusing name.

If the game does good even without drm it'll boalster the anti-drm lobby and crowd to be sure! I hope it works out well.
I just hope they will improve the facial animations of the characters in the next months...

Why? IMO gameplay over graphics.......fook yeah!

Well, the game seems to have a lot of ingame cut scenes. Because of this I find it really important that the characters should be able to show some expressions in their faces instead of just moving the mouth when speaking. Besides of that the general graphics of the game look great - even in this early state.

The problem is more than the developers......the technology for showing facial expressions in games is still evolving so there's only so much they can do, and also the best facial stuff and resolutions take alot of impact/toll on a gamer's hardware so they have to make it so many can play instead of just a few gamers with the top 1% of hardware.

I'm sorry, but you totally made this up. Facial expression has absolutely no special demands to the player's PC and surely not as outrageous as you hinted.
How should it? There are just premade sets of faces which are triggered, usually in cut scenes.

Facial expression takes a hit on graphics hardware if you do alot of 3d rendering on the face and expressions.
The Witcher 2 was a must buy for me anyway, so I'll jump on this for sure. The extras sound great!
Is there somewhere that I could watch the conference again? I missed it due to work :(
