Today, in Warsaw, CD Projekt is holding a conference to sum up the year 2010 and to reveal some of the plans for the upcoming 2011. We'd like to invite you all to watch the live stream of the conference, mainly concerning The Witcher 2, which will start at 12:30 EDT (or 17:30 GMT if you're in the European time zone) at TheWitcher.com and The Witcher Facebook page. There will also be a special GOG.com part with a surprise for all fans of good games! See you there! ;)
Can't wait. Added to the calendar.

SLP2000: Plus I think we'll hear about new "big" company, I bet (and hope) it's LucasArts.
EA would be a bigger surprise.

FlintlockJazz: At first I thought from the title that they were actually going to give people the chance to actually attend, like some sort of competition to get free tickets or something.
avatar
Aliasalpha: Yeah I thought the same thing, damnit
They should give us all free access to their event in compensation for getting our hopes up! Plus ice cream! ;)

I'm honestly expecting either Square enix (eidos titles) or Bethesda
Good Old Games to sell The Witcher 2

Will there be monks?

(I hope not)
lets see what happens

I won't argue, but I think it's not the time yet.

Anyway, after EA coming on board, there will be noone who would refuse GOG, so I have nothing against it.

Square enix is highly possible too.

Bethesda, with all respect, doesn't have that many great titles.
I'd be shocked.

That would mean that GOG stops being "Old", and probably that there will be new price point.

Although that (exclusive sale) would bring gog zillions of new users

I guess they'll use their own child as a guinea pig to make a statement to other publishers that releasing a DRM-free blockbuster AAA release is worth it. Truly a daring experiment.
The Mad Monks II premiere, yeah!:D

perhaps you weren't aware but...the company now owns the publishing rights to ID's software titles

if bethesda goes on board we will not only get morrowind but also Doom and Quake

nondeplumage: I finally got a computer that could handle The Witcher. Is this game awesome? Is it so awesome I should put whatever game I was going to play next on hold and play The Witcher instead?
It's okay.

I agree. This is a good thing. A higher price point isn't a bad thing either, but I sincerely hope that they have strict requirements over which games are eligible (for example, no games originally released more than a year ago) otherwise certain publishers are going to automatically demand the highest price for everything.

GOG does not have a system for patches. They'll need to think up something for that if they want to sell new games. Asking players to redownload the entire game, uninstall and finally reinstall every time there is an update (without even knowing when an update is available) is not the way to go.
That would be insane and awesome if true. Just one problem, there's no way my current crap PC could run either of The Witcher games.
