Obsidian Joining Wasteland 2 if the kickstarter reaches $2.1 millions in the 17 funding days remaining.

What do you think of them apples?
Oh bugger, and I already gave them $115 to get the collector's edition.

One can only hope inXile can guide Obsidian to put up realistic goals and finish what they start.
So a lot of the people responsible for the spirtual successors to Wasteland, Fallout 1 and 2 (as well as other classic CRPGs such as Planescape, Arcanum and Icewind Dale), could eventually be working on the actual Wasteland sequel...? Full circle man. I think that's cool.
Because Brian Fargo and Chris Avellone have never made anything good, especially when working together...

As we all know, a game being stable, on budget and on time are more important than a game actually being good.

And don't get me started on all those fly by night games studios who last for a few years, make some of the best games ever designed, and go bankrupt. Much better that we have loads of companies who are better at business and last longer, even if they never make a half decent game in their lives.

You can make your pledge smaller and downgrade to a smaller reward or even cancel if you want. This would have the side effect of making it slightly harder for them to reach 2.1million. :P
At least this time Obsidian won't be forced to use an incredibly buggy engine and forced to release early by Bethesda.
"To clarify some stuff: Obsidian will not do any programming. InXile is doing all the programming for this title. InXile is getting them in for design work and licensing tools"

Well, at least there is less chance that it will be a buggy mess.

Recently? No.

When do developer's stop getting an automatic pass for PAST glories, is there a particular amount of halfassed jobs they must accomplish in the meantime, or does it vary from developer to developer?
Hopefully no one with a heart condition read this.

Right. Let's ignore all the good things they've done in the past and focus only on the bad things they've done the past. Makes perfect sense.
I'm actually happy about this. Looking forward to the game, and I personally don't think it will be a 'buggy mess'.

Why not? It makes as much sense as only concentrating on the good does.... they're both two sides of the same coin, and besides, the dross far outweighs the gold.

TBH I'm inclined to agree to a certain point, I'm just having a lot of fun throwing shit.

Obsidian know their reputation, and I'm also pretty sure that they know what'll happen if they do screw up again... I'm pretty sure Fargo can keep them on track.

Sorry.. I don't go in for blind patronage.
Well, I hadn't put in my pledge for Wasteland 2...now I feel obligated to do it. I want this to friggin' happen!
