amok: The other project uses orphans to deliver the physical goods, it is cheaper.

Navagon: Orphans might not be strong swimmers but they float all the same.
doublefine will make orphan rafts which will take them over the sea and nourish them with orphan tears during the voyage

*sniff* those wonderful guys! They think of everything!

Then again, if the Adventure image is anything to go by, maybe they'll be strategically dropped from an aircraft?

Catapults are cheaper.
[I don't think so, raft is easier to make from orphans, fake barf, giant ball of yarn and tiny hamster sweater.

EDIT: oh, btw, it already very close to 300k. I predict 600-700 k until the end of the first 24 hrs :)

I haven't played the first Wasteland. In fact, it was released the year I was born. I can not find a gameplay video on YouTube or perhaps I am too lazy to do a good search. I fucking love all D&D Interplay isometric RPGs, but to this day I have not managed to play the Interplay Fallout games because I found F1's starting sequence somewhat stupid (having to waste bullets on rats and then wandering in the desert for no apparent reason really put me off).

Why should I back this project up?

Here's the first part of an amazing Let's Play of the original Wasteland.

The actual gameplay begins in part 3.

strange, when I fired up f1 I thought: "boy, oh boy, I'm in a world after the bomb, ammo must be scarce" so I equipped my trusty knife and slaughtered them all XD
Few games made me roleplay my characters or think like I was threading in their shoes. There is magic in everything they touch which needs to be kept alive and that's why you must back this project, even if it's only 1$ :)

You didn't have to shoot the rats. You could walk right past them. And you weren't walking out into the desert for no reason. Your vault's water purification chip was broken, and you were the unlucky guy/gal who got sent out to find a new one. No water chip, no purified water.

Meh, let's hope he won't use the same graphics engine. :-P

I may pledge 15$, but I'll have to think about it. I don't like the idea of paying before you actually see the product, although I'd make an exception for BG3 or PST2.

SimonG: Yes, and it's available DRM free and on Steam. Maybe I should have put an "on" in there.
So - will it require STEAM ? Or will it be DRM Free? Source please...

Thx.

did anyone noticed in FAQ on Kickstarter:
----
Can I get my digital copy on Steam, if I want?

Absolutely. The digital copies will be made available through Steam and other DRM free digital distribution methods.
-----
GOG - GO FOR IT!

EDIT:
So - how does it look in reality? Say I pledge $50. In 30 days we all will know if they reached the goal - do the inform me when they are going to charge my CC?

It's either when the kickstarter ends or not at all.
