Since I love his work, and it sounds like this game could act as almost a proper spiritual Fallout 3 (not to mention a wasteland 2), I donated 100 bucks.

Thanks for the warning! I've heard bad things about that site.

I don't know if Canada is "international shipping", but you might want to add another 15$.

It's one of those polish scammer sites that charges money for abandonware games!

goral: You obviously do not know what sarcasm is and how to use it.

Now all people that know about Wasteland and visit sites such as RPG Codex and NMA are donating but these will eventually run out. The rest who doesn't care won't even know about it until they read it on Kotaku/Reddit or some other site and even then they might think that some no-name company that makes only 'sucky' games wants to steal their money by making an archaic game for mere 900 000 $ (that's actual comment from some retard on Polish site, paraphrased). Can we gather 1M $ only from people who played Wasteland and/or who do not like Bethesda games? Because otherwise I'm afraid it will be difficult.

The rate at which the amount of money increases has already dropped drastically after reaching 220k $. In comparison in the same amount of time DF managed to get $400k.
Double Fine is Double Fine. Of course inXile, a company with a pretty poor track record won't make as much money. Schafer has been more involved with gaming culture recently than Fargo has.

However, it's safe to say that, since they're more than 25% there the first day they'll reach their $900k target.

Maybe sarcasm works differently in Poland, but here in the United States, saying that something more than 25% funded in the first day of a more than a month funding process will never reach its goal is very clear sarcasm.
I'm really interested in this, but I'm gonna hold off on dropping money for a bit. Partially because of wanting to spring for the boxed version which would require money I don't have and partially because I'm paranoid it won't hit the mark. Hopefully I'm wrong on the latter because it would take a lot to screw something like this up.

You don't actually pay until the end of the kick starter campaign. Then if they don't actually manage to hit the target (unlikley) you don't get charged at all.
I couldn't resist the $50 pledge. But it does leave me wondering if more will be required for shipping. So I've asked.

lowyhong: The most disturbing thing I saw while glossing over RPGCodex's W2 thread was a quote of someone from the Kickstarter comments asking if he could get the Steam version rather than the DRM-free version, because he didn't want the DRM-free version. O_O
did you only just now figure out that this forum here is the only place on the internet where people actually give a crap about DRM?? i mean, 30+ million Steam accounts might have been a hint. or 3 best-selling Assassin's Creed games all featuring the most restrictive DRM ever devised. or Battlefield 3 selling like hotcakes on the PC despite the Origin requirement.

i'd probably go for the Steam edition as well, if i had to make a choice. unlimited downloads and patching priority. the DRM-free edition will not be available for download forever, and if you loose your backup copy, you're out of luck.

also, thanks to Amazon still not accepting PayPal this is yet another Kickstarter project i can't back. they really should start to consider offering alternative payment methods.

$15 for international shipping.
I'm a bit disappointed that the boxed version doesn't include a digital download of the game. I would even pay an extra $15 for a digital copy, but unfortunately they don't offer that option.
