As many of you have noticed, GOG recently unbundled many games. Users have pointed out pros and cons to both sides of this, but GOG hasn't given a choice for what we want as individual customers.

Vote and make your voices heard so that maybe we have a choice in this:

I won't vote for any of these, at least not before GOG decides to implement better quality control. Even if they give some options, I'm afraid that something else will break again.

I think this is the problem in the first place. They did this in too much of a hurry without any real input from users. I think if they actually listen to us it might all fall into place.

i have seen quite some fora, you cant compare steams fora / shelvss/ client with anything so if we leave steam out of this,
then most other sites are worse, trust me i have seen them, GOG is better then these sites, these other sites are down a lot, have even worse loading, carts are not working corectly , etc etc etc etc.

So i have nothing to complain:

i can login ,
i can access my games,
i can download them,
i use that downloader cause i dont want to click al links plus it takes to many time.

so i am quite satisfied

Why should there be input from us? What are we, beta testers? GOG should have double-checked everything before applying the changes. They should have given it a second check and think what could annoy the users before applying it. Hell, they could actually ask for optional beta-testing before applying this. Now look at this mess; missing languages, missing OS versions, no descriptive text on the extras, a new version of Fallout called Schrödinger's Edition and the downloader isn't working properly with the unbundled games. Adding new features before they fix this damn mess is only asking for further trouble.

True, but giving us back the option to download the old versions meanwhile certainly wouldn't hurt anything.
This comes across more as demanding choice for choice's sake rather than a genuine practical concern. Is there something that the unbundling process prevents you from doing?

Both of these. Think the site and library is bad now? Let's change the mechanics of it drastically and see how it works then!

Voted for all.

Unfortunately, it won't help because:
1) it would be a lot of work for GOG to support both bundled and unbundled installers.
2) it won't help Galaxy in any way.

It takes a lot more time to download and install the separated games. For example, Leisure Suit Larry Greatest Hits is now separated into 8 downloads:

Let's count the steps it takes to download all of those games before and after:

Before:

1. Click game cover.
2. Click download. (wait for download to finish)
3. Click to open installer.
4. Click Agree to EULA.
5. Click install.

done in 5 clicks. (without modifying "options")

After:

1. Click game cover.
2. Click download. (wait for download to finish)
3. Click to open installer.
4. Click Agree to EULA.
5. Click install.

repeat for all 8 games.

done in 40 clicks. (without modifying "options")

This also makes downloads larger:

Download size before: Approximately 570mb
Download size after: Approximately 992mb

This assumes you are using the GOG downloader (which I believe is scheduled to be phased out once Galaxy is available). If you use the browser, the number of clicks goes up even more.
I wish there was an option to "re-bundle" some of the games. Some games really didn't need to be unbundled like the Battle Isle and Zork series. It just makes sense for some game collections to have one large installer.

Oh. So I won't even be able to download my games fast once that shit arrives. Good. Great. Achievement unlocked.

This all assumes that you have a practical reason for installing all parts in one go. While it's certainly likely that someone may have several games on the go at the same time, it's fairly unlikely (with a small number of exceptions, such as the Pinball Gold Pack) that they're going to be playing several games in the same series concurrently. Or do you make a habit of playing LSL1 and LSL2 at the same time, or playing Might and Magic 2 before you've finished Might and Magic 1?
