I like that it is so small. And I read yesterday that also NVidia is going into the console business:

So more and more competition.

I personally think competition is good for the market. :P

Fictionvision: Second Edit: More recent article on the Xi3/Valve system.

The design is based on a $999 system from the company with similar specs. If its that much for a system without a dedicated GPU then it's purpose is even more head scratching.
Wow, that thing looks only slightly bigger than the Ouya. I think Valve will have a tough time selling this. Their target audience should be people with aging PCs and lots of Steam games, but if the OS is linux based then 90% of their games won't run on it so why bother buying it over a new PC?

Price on X7A is hardly relevant. Mass produced system with these specs would not cost more than $400-500.
Bumping this since some more news has come out. Saw this browsing NeoGAF just now.

Steambox prototypes are scheduled for 3-4 months from now for testing. They are working on possible body feedback through the controller to effect the game while playing. No new info on price.
body feedback through the controller to effect the game while playing. How is this going to be pulled off?

maybe the controller is watching you or they have speech recognition or it might measure your heartbeat or your body temperature or you have to put some sensors on parts of you or maybe they just interpret pushing buttons as body feedback ...
I'll let them in my living room as long as they give me top first beta accesses :)
