Price drop, fixes and free DLC!

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms, a heavy hack'n'slash action RPG with a two-sided twist, just received a price-drop, free DLC for everyone who owns the game, and a few tweaks and updates! To make the deal sweeter, the game is also 50% off for the next week!

Take control of the Devourer, a demon that swallows the souls of the dead and brings them back into the mortal realm as puppets. But is the demon their master – or their servant? Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is the first part of a sequel to the classic Kult: Heretic Kingdoms (also known as Heretic Kingdoms: Inquisition), it's a tale of a world and its shadows - both of which you will walk with grace to overcome anything in your path, but beware that each world presents it's own dangers and challenges.

On top of the permanent price-drop, the game is now updated with plenty of tweaks and bug fixes and a French language version. For even more gameplay, originally-exclusive DLC is now free for everyone! The DLC includes three new quests: Tholean Tablet, The Owl Amulet and The Scorpion King.

If you're eagerly awaiting Book 2 of the story, the devs are preparing an impressive technological update to the game which will allow them to execute every bit of new content and gameplay planned into the sequel, no cutting corners. They should have more news on the update and progress on Book 2 production later in the year.

Shadows: Heretic Kingdoms is now available better and cheaper than ever, DRM-free on GOG.com. The promo will last one week, until Friday, September 4, 10:59 AM GMT.

Update refused to install that night through Galaxy, and I haven't had the time to get back around to trying the install again.

No worries, we have updated the offline installer as well :)

Also, it would help greatly if you could submit a bug on Mantis so we can investigate the cause of this :)

I have the autosubmit-errors button checked. Also, given the nature of the failure, it may be something specific to a settings conflict on my laptop. I didn't have time to do more troubleshooting then, and probably won't until midway through the weekend, but if I can't resolve it, I will.
For those who purchased the game early (meaning before this update)

I talked to a dev in the games subforums on Steam, about the situation regardless the GOG version vs the Steam one

Steam users which bought the game early on Steam got their version updated to a deluxe one (there's no deluxe version there)

- free soundtrack
- a free copy of the previous game

those concerned could try to send a copy of the receipt of the purchase directly to them (but i didn't get an answer yet)

the dev agreed to the point both customers should be treated equally and will talk to gog.

So maybe those in this case will have extra stuff :)

edit : doh' i missed the e-mail : support@games-farm.com

Talking of being treated equally, I don't suppose they mentioned anything about getting the two patches they've released on Steam since the 'big update' over here have they?

Unfortunatly , as far i understood some patches will or are skipped , they bleme GOG (mostly), they hope Galaxy will speed up the update process.......sigh..... i don't really know which side to take. >_>

go there if interested ; http://steamcommunity.com/app/256030/discussions/0/527273452872556534/#p5

But at least they regained full control on the game.

And to be honest, i completly understood their concern , GOG doesn't have the manpower to treat all those patches (testing , etc...). The only point where i could disagree is when a company refuse to patch a game with a gamebreaking bug (see Gangsters from Kalypso T_T).

Now now, don't go blaming an innocent game. :P

Now this makes me really cross :( For a start, Galaxy is supposed to be optional but it looks like we're heading for a future whereby if we want timely (or not, as is usually the case) patches/updates then we've got to download this (personally speaking) unwanted piece of software.

Also, the devs (and GOG) are happy to rake money in from selling these games here but seem unwilling to then offer any further updates citing the 'it's too difficult' excuse and blaming each other for the lack of patches. So in the meantime, people who buy their games at GOG have to keep their fingers crossed that they will get the patches at all whilst Steam get speedy bug fixes, patches and updates. It really is not good enough - they (the devs and GOG) are quick to take our money for the game, they should be as quick at delivering bug fixes, etc. and NOT just through the 'optional' Galaxy client.
