Good news! As of this day two classic games made by Mike Singleton - The Lords of Midnight and Doomdark’s Revenge - are available on GOG.COM completely free.

Enjoy those breakthrough titles that paved the road for fantasy series like King’s Bounty or Heroes of Might and Magic.

Already had these purchased long ago, but happy to see more people have excitement over them with this announcement. Thank you for sharing the love.
Thanks for this GOG! This was pretty cool of you guys! :-)

Thanks for the gifts! GOG, as usual, surpasses expectations!

NeverOnline: Do not expect here the new novel The Lords of Midnight.
Thank you - I wasn't even aware of this book. Ordering now :)

By the way, there is a free online multiplayer Lords of Midnight. I haven't played it for years after I was repeatedly severely defeated but it was a lot of fun. Check it out: https://www.midnightmu.com/games_home.php

Why is this good, what is the games appeal and what does this remake do to make it worth looking at this instead of finding the spectrum game? Why is there odd high rated posts in this thread?
Thank you so much!
Thank you

igrok: Very nice! I just wish we had the third part of this game trilogy here, too (The Citadel)!
The Citadel was an unplayable clusterfuck, so you haven't missed much IMO.
The real third part - The Eye of the Moon - was sadly never finished, and now that Mike Singleton has passed away it never will be. :-(

I'll be honest, this is the first I've heard this statement made. I guess I should really try these out, after all King's Bounty and Heroes of Might and Magic are my all time favorite games.

And if we're making wishes for what we'd like to see release here: Hammer of the Gods is the game game that inspired the Heroes of Might and Magic series, and apparently it plays almost identical. I keep mentioning this, but I guess I'll have to try out a pirated version of it, so that I don't build it up in my mind and end up being disappointed.
Whoa! Many thanks for the freebies! As always! GOG.COM is the best!!!

Um, I am thankful and all, but could we get free games that don't make my eyes start to burn for some odd reason? o.0 ;)

(The above is a joke....it's nice to have more freebies, even if they did go heavy on certain shades/colors)

There is one, but you need legal copies of those OSs to use with them.

The author of those remakes is also working on the remake of The Citadel that will be similar to previous games: The http://thelordsofmidnight.com/blog/tag/the-citadel/
There are setbacks on the route but hopefully one day we will see it.

A turn based version of The Citadel would be great indeed!

It looks like we will wait even longer for The Citadel.
