It’s high time to invite the 7th Guest and the 11th Hour into GOG.com catalogue.

In the beginning of 1990’s, most games would fit on a couple floppies and CD-ROM was as widespread as a combination Mouse and VoIP Phone is today. However, one gaming company decided to do something utterly ridiculous: create a game with live actors, pre-rendered 3D environment, and orchestrated score, a game so big it would have to be sold on CD-ROM. The game they created, The 7th Guest, eventually sold more than 2 million copies and is considered by many the killer app that created a demand for CD-ROM drives.

The 7th Guest is a gothic thriller adventure set inside an eerie abandoned mansion of one Henry Stauf, an insane toymaker who decided to make the house full of twisted quests, bizarre puzzles, and deadly challenges. Bill Gates hailed it then "the new standard in interactive entertainment".
The thrilling sequel, The 11th Hour, follows the same path of terror, desolation, and grotesque logic but with even more advanced graphics, better cinematic sequences, and more in-game content.

Together, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour, form an unsettling tale of horror and mystery that will send chills down your spine. Both games are coming soon to GOG.com for $9.99 each.

Will you accept the invitation to Henry Stauf’s cursed mansion?
Yeeeeeeees! I still have my old Mac 7th Guest disk and meaty strategy guide.
OMG AWESOME!!!

Thank you so much GOG, these were my favorite games back then when they still worked on my old computer!

I worship you!!
I just bought the 11th Hour from a local flea market for 2€ :)
One issue with this. I believe that Myst was the Killer app that sold CD-ROMs.

Other than that, I am looking forward to these releases. :)
I bought 7th guest when it was relatively new and I loved it then, but I think that I never solved all of the puzzles. If I remember correctly there was some really terrible voice acting and strange story, with the puzzles jammed in there in a rather contrived way. Not sure if I'd enjoy the game as much today as I did back then, but I kind of feel like I should revisit it some day and finish solving the puzzles.
I would argue that effectively every puzzle in the game was contrived but then that was all part of the story. The voice acting was a tad over the top, especially when viewed today, but it was a solid experience. Some of the chess puzzles, to this day, are almost impossible for me to do. There were some challenging puzzles here.

Both were important CD-Rom killer aps. Both were released in 1993 and both showed people that either you had a CD-rom drive, or you were a nobody.
This i great!! A bit of a high price (5.99 are a lot instabuys, 9.99 makes me a bit more hesitant) but great none the less.

I really hope that they will also release Clandestiny, TLC and POV (i had some trouble in the past finding clandestiny and TLC, have been unable to find POV).

Clandestiny is a cartoony 7th guest in a scottish mansion and is awesome.

TLV and POV are more interactive movies so maybe they do not really fit here...
great! thank you very much GOG!
It's a real shame they never finished The Collector (7th guest 3)
Holy fuck, didn't see that one coming! :D

You are on a roll GOG.
Awesome news, this is true classic.

I hope it doesn't mean we're done with SE titles.

Awesome, I really loved the iconic imagery and the soundtrack of these "games" even if they are just separate standalone puzzles connected with video sequences. I think this series might actually become pretty popular again if you consider the success of the Professor Layton games.
