It’s high time to invite the 7th Guest and the 11th Hour into GOG.com catalogue.

In the beginning of 1990’s, most games would fit on a couple floppies and CD-ROM was as widespread as a combination Mouse and VoIP Phone is today. However, one gaming company decided to do something utterly ridiculous: create a game with live actors, pre-rendered 3D environment, and orchestrated score, a game so big it would have to be sold on CD-ROM. The game they created, The 7th Guest, eventually sold more than 2 million copies and is considered by many the killer app that created a demand for CD-ROM drives.

The 7th Guest is a gothic thriller adventure set inside an eerie abandoned mansion of one Henry Stauf, an insane toymaker who decided to make the house full of twisted quests, bizarre puzzles, and deadly challenges. Bill Gates hailed it then "the new standard in interactive entertainment".
The thrilling sequel, The 11th Hour, follows the same path of terror, desolation, and grotesque logic but with even more advanced graphics, better cinematic sequences, and more in-game content.

Together, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour, form an unsettling tale of horror and mystery that will send chills down your spine. Both games are coming soon to GOG.com for $9.99 each.

Will you accept the invitation to Henry Stauf’s cursed mansion?
The pricing of each title being $9.99 is too high. Both for $9.99-$14.99 would make a good deal. Since ScummVM already supports The 7th Guest, i won't buy these unless the price is right or some real good bonus content shows up. But i don't see that coming.
Keep it up GOG! Like I said, I like how 2012 started around here... :D
I know why "Mouse and VoIP Phone" is so rare, because it has a major drawback: you can not use the mouse while speaking on the phone... So I don't see a bight future for it like CD-ROM had.

Excellent news. I already have the retail versions of these games, but I will seriously consider purchasing the DRM-free digital versions here, especially if they have resolved the various compatibility issues (e.g. very fast speed) with newer Windows OSes.

Also, plus one vote for Clandestiny! I don't own that one, and I hope to find it here at some point.

paulcmnt: I like the idea.
I found a review of these Doom levels (I never had them before because I only had the terribly (mis)translated german version of the 11th hour which didn't have them on the CD):
http://forums.newdoom.com/showthread.php?t=33653

So they're really nothing special, but since the levels were included on the original American CDs it would be a shame if they were lost in time.
While 7th Guest and the 11th Hour are "coming soon" on GOG, Dotemu just released them. What a "coincidence". I always suspected there is some relationship between GOG and Dotemu (something else than just competition...).

Actually as far as I know they are competing, even though GOG have a few Dotemu licensed games in their catalogue:

A paranoid person might come to the conclusion that the only reason GOG announced the releases right now instead of surprising us with the release next tuesday was to keep people from buying the games on Dotemu right now... :P

That's so obvious that you don't have to be paranoid... :)

It's not the first time when GOG and Dotemu release/announce games at the same time.
I'm not sure they do that driven by competition or because they "arranged" to do so. Strangely I never so any GOG employee commenting on Dotemu in any way.
It was Trilobyte Games who announced the deal witj dotemu and gog.com first.
I saw the dotEmu release for the games and decided to come here just in case. Wow, didn't see these great games coming out (not even a hint, how puzzling).

I haven't felt this excited about a game release in ages, and not just one but both games. I'm definitely buying. I never did get to finish the 7th guest and those puzzles were tough, but fun. Time to try again.

Oh I can't wait to play 7th guest and 11th hour again. I have such fond memories of these games. Very pleasant announcement, it made my day.
i though great news as well, as i do know this game, like such games and never played these two - but indeed, the price is too high. 9,99 usd both would be a buy. with 5.99 usd i would wait for a promo, with 9.99usd each i would actually not buy them even as promo. still enough other stuff to play and buy in time.

Well, according to their facebook page, Trilobyte contacted both of them at the same time. They're really supportive of re-releasing their old games on PC.
Wish they werent 9.99. That means Ill just get 7th guest for now and maybe 11th hour later.

10 bucks for game like that seems bit steep. But of course I may really get into it and end up loving it and then the price will be easily justified.

And by the way GOG, please keep these horror titles coming. The horror titles were the things that got me hooked and kept me going for pc gaming because to me they were always the most unique thing about pc gaming back in the day. I could find rpg, strategy (in some form), action, platforming and such anywhere even on consoles but the horror games are what stood proudly on pc's. Finding a cool horror game on the pc then was like the giddy feeling of being a kid and staying up too late and finding some trashy movie on late night tv youre not supposed to be watching.

Some other horror titles I would gladly pay you for would be.......
