Price, and even more because the place where I was buying those (gigantti.fi) didn't seem to be offering much ot other choices, e.g. for 8TB NAS-suitable HDDs. In fact now that I checked it, it was the only 8TB internal 3.5" SATA HDD that they were offering. I steer clear of the big "Archive" and "Backup" brand HDDs as they seem to be using the SMR-technology which makes them unsuitable for writing lots of data at a time, while these "NAS-capable" drives don't use SMR. I presume most cheapo external USB HDDs use SMR, the assumption probably is that people will be writing relatively small amounts of data into them at a time, like copying a couple of new files into them at a time.

As for the 2TB 2.5" HDDs, the only other offering they had was also Seagate, and it was a costier SSHD, not a HDD. They also had two Toshibas, but they were only 1TB and 500GB.

I didn't even recall what brand my eartier 3TB HDDs were (which these 8TB ones will be mostly replacing), but now that I checked, they were actually Toshiba's. I have no idea whether Toshiba is a better brand but at least they've been working fine for the couple of years I've had them. Then again their usage has been very occasional as they are for archiving, not for daily usage.

They arrived yesterday, now I am setting them up. I also got an SMS that the textile cleaning machine I bought is waiting to be picked up from the store, not sure if I'll do it over the weekend or get it on Monday as my workplace is next to the store.

Anyway, at least those 8TB Seagate HDDs have a three year warranty, so...

If he bought a cat... even here they are giving them away for free I think! Unless it is some royal chinese breed like those weird looking cats without hair, or the cats with no nose, as if someone had punched them into the face hard.

They're certainly not free here, even for a moggie. I got him from the SPCA, so they also include neutering, microchipping, vaccinations, and vet check.

Ah, I see. I asked about this because I've heard that recently Seagate is going down with quality.

Ah ok, services included. I always though people just get a kitten from some shelter home for free, before they are put down(?). I guess breed champion scecimens which one would take into shows and competitions cost actual money.

I've had three cats in my life, and at least I didn't pay anything for them. One I had ever since a teeny kid (I was too small to remember when he appeared in our family), two others I was given by some who had received them from elsewhere, and wanted a new good home for them and since they knew I am cat-friendly, they asked me to take them (one by one). In fact one of them was first for my big sister but she suddenly felt she doesn't have time for it so she wanted me to get one.

However, nowadays I wouldn't want a cat into our family anymore and don't really care to be around cats (or at least I wash my hands after petting them), I'm kinda freaked out by toxoplasmosis. Who knows, maybe I already have, considering I've already had three cats which did get to roam outdoors pretty freely (ie. they've probably hunted mice too, which bring toxoplasmosis to cats).

Back to on-topic, yesterday I bought an indoors laundry drying rack which one assembles between walls. I actually have two such already in our bathroom, but decided to get a third one, as I just today drilled some holes + screws for them so that they better in place even with heavy laundry (one of them had come crashing down twice when it was full of laundry, before I drilled the screws on the walls).

https://sinituote.fi/tuote/sini-siivousvalineet/vaatehuolto/kuivaustelineet-sisalle/saadettava-kuivausteline-235-cm/

However, this third rack had been assembled wrong at the factory (the plastic strings were attached wrong so you couldn't stretch them to the correct lenght), so today I brought it back to the store. They offered a new one but I wanted to open the package first and check it that it wasn't assembled wrong as well. I got a good one this time, so now I have plenty of room for drying laundry. No we don't have a drying machine, I don't like them and they wear down your clothes very fast.

Since I was at the store, I decided to buy a leather jacket and a warmer winter jacket for the coming winter, since they were on discount. The leather jacket looked quite good but cost before around 89€, but now it was down to 25€ or so. I just couldn't pass it even though I bought another (cheap) leather jacket two months ago or so. Yeah I guess they are fake leather, who cares.

One reason I decided to buy a new leather jacket was because at work I saw a colleague with exactly the same leather jacket as I had already. I know Is shouldn't care if someone happens to wear the same jacket or shirt as me... BUT I DO! It just feels so weird! I want to be a snowflake, dressing differently than everyone else!

I wouldn't know really. I haven't had much of misfortune with the HDDs I've bought, but then my usage is quite "normal" I'd say. Usually if I lose a HDD, I've somehow mishandled it, or then it has been a VERY old HDD, like over an decade old. Like the one that stopped working on my old Compaq laptop, it was probably 15 years old and it overheated as that laptop apparently started overheating.

A 1TB PS4 Pro for AU$379 (Usually retail at $AU$539)
A pair of Bose QC35 SII wireless headphones AU$329 (Retail at AU$499)

Screw you for crushing my wallet Amazon Prime!! ><
Little off-topic, but since I just bought my second fake-leather jacket, and happened to find my old leather jacket which is made of real leather, it occurred to me that I don't even know what is the material used for making fake leather.

Apparently is is basically plastic? My newer fake-leather jacket says it is 100% polyester ("100% polyester rubbed pu", whatever that means, maybe the full description didn't fit to the web page description).

The wikipedia article said that good fake-leather can be hard to tell apart from real leather, but I could instantly tell them apart, by smell alone. The fake-leather doesn't smell much of anything, while the real leather jacket has that strong leather odor that fills the whole room.

I guess fake leather is more water-proof (plastic, as it is), so I guess I don't have to care of rain with it...?
Nothing...
Not today but recently I bought some more 3DS games in the sales despite not having really played my 3DS for a year.

I got:
---------------------
Zelda: Tri force Heroes
Ever Oasis
Fire Emblem Fates Birthright
Fire Emblem Fates Conquest
Fire Emblem Warriors
Yo Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters
Story of Season: Trio of Towns
Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Fossil Fighters: Frontier

I haven't had the time to get round to playing any of them yet. I really want to start playing Ever Oasis and Yo Kai Watch 2 since I really enjoyed the first game. I hope those Fire Emblem games are more strategy than JRPG because I'm not really a fan of the JRPG formula too much ha ha!

Anyone got any suggestions on what to play first or what 3DS games to look out for?
