I didn't hear anything about it, but personally - I don't care. I can't even play TW3 yet, so TW4 is not relevant so far.

All I see there, is something like "we can make such games in the future". It doesn't mean they have any specific plans yet.

It's pretty mush the same as what I got in 2.3 which had the most visible changes from the previous versions.

uh! ok the last version what i tried was 2.1 xD
We need Witcher 1+3 on Linux, and (ideally) a Witcher 1-3 combo set for Xbox/PS4.

(Only 2/3 are available if you have a console :/)

Please vote if you didn't yet. And for Cyberpunk 2077 too.

I am sure Cyberpunk 2077 is made with Vulcan and Python and such so no need for MS only things like DirectX and .NET. That would be the natural thing to do so it will be easy to make a Linux version. . . . . . . .or am I wrong? Nah, cannot be.

CDPR didn't explain yet what they are using in CP2077. Given how much they cared about cross platform development in the past (hint - they didn't), I'm not yet convinced they are using Vulkan. MS brainwashed too many studios to use DirectX. Time will tell.

It's a summary moved from the first post to the wiki (see first post in this thread ;).

Hello,

I wanted to express my strong support for bringing the Witcher 3 to Linux. The Witcher 3 is one of the best games ever made, and in a recent poll it's the number 1 game Linux users would love to see on their preferred OS. In addition the landscape for gaming on Linux has really changed in the last couple of years and continues to get more stable and robust. There are now common runtimes that games can target, and Nvidia (and more recently AMD) have made driver issues far less prevelant. The drivers are becoming really top notch, and on par with Windows. Finally, I should mention that Windows 10 S marks a significant change for Windows. Many users will only be able to run games they purchase from the Windows Store, leaving GOG out in the cold. More Linux ports means a better opportunity to stay viable in the wake of Windows 10 S.

Thanks!
How Witcher 3 looks in Wine now (with a few patches).
I'm afraid our only hope to play Cyberpunk 2077 on release is if CD Projekt uses Vulkan instead of DX12.

Their games always are on the high end of graphics, and have huge requirements - Vulkan enables high-end graphics with amazing performance (eg Doom 2016) so it'd suit perfectly their needs. Also, it's multiplatform. Damn, they could even make a Nintendo Switch version.. (with downscaled graphics ofc).

Sadly I grew to only expect the worst from CD Projekt, so they'll probably be using DX12.

No way they'll ever release a game on Linux, if they can't even release GOG Galaxy.....
