Bloodygoodgames: Will probably eventually go back to Arcanum but, for a game that so many people have bought and liked, I'm really not that impressed.

ashwald: I assume you've been tackling the combat in real-time? There's an option to switch to turn-based in the options/preferences menu and, for me at least, that made all the difference.
No, I'm been playing turn-based. Think I might need to switch to real time as I was getting my ass kicked :)
I can't wait for Wii to introduce Mortal Kombat. Now there is a combat system I'd like to have a whack at (pardon the pun).

Oh God, imagine the many injuries players will get from playing that game. Fatality! :D

Haha, yeah, exactly like that :D
I remember when it first came out, I hated the combat. But it's not really one of those "You can do everything perfectly right from the start" games. If you want to be good with a gun, you have to build it up. Same with fists. I didn't touch the game for a while, then when I went back to it I was like, Why did this frustrate me before? Still, when it comes to fighting, I just keeping aiming and button-mashing, but it doesn't seem nearly as horrible to me as it did the first time.

Bloodygoodgames: Men!!

We women can always get more done AND we don't complain about it either :)
Instead you tend to brag about it, which kind of evens the score, sadly. ;)

I actually enjoyed the combat in Bloodlines. Admittedly, it was a bit hard and awkward in the beginning and I feared that it would get worse, but it actually got easier (and by a lot), once I found me a nice katana and put some points in melee. After that, it was mostly a breeze, with only few exceptions. Yeah, it was hectic and half of the time I probably didn't know what I was doing, but I found it quite satisfying nevertheless, because my character felt so quick and powerful (even without using Celerity; I played a Toreador, btw). So while the combat system is not great I still had fun with it. In fact, the action would be the strongest motivation for me to replay the game, even though I generally dislike replaying games.

Can you write your name in the snow?

F1ach: Try third person, I used that and it was fine.
IIRC you can't even use FPP for melee combat in Bloodlines (unless the community patch added that kind of thing).

I hate sexism. And it goes both ways.

Also: can't really complain about the combat in Bloodlines. Morrowind and Gothic were IMHO MUCH worse.

Press "Z".
Once I got used to the fighting in Gothic (which I admit took a LOOOOOONNNGGG time) I came to love it. By the end of the game I was a bad man.
I liked the combat in Oni which reminds me GOG bring this game here.
lol certain cases such as this cheating makes a hell of better and enjoyable gameplay
I didn't enjoy the combat in Risen,
getting one's ass handed by a malnourished weakly baby ostrich was quite depressing.

The Wichter Combat 1 was rather fun, though. You just need to click in the right sequences.
Didn't even much problems with Vampires though, maybe in the late game when I didn't focus on ranged weapons.

Dude, it's a joke. We were both joking :)

And absolutely hilarious that people downreped me because of that. (BTW, WHO downreps? Five year olds? :)

Yep. Pee into a squirt top bottle and then use that.

See.....we women can always figure out how to do things just like men, even if we have smaller 'equipment' :)
