JMich: For single file installers, you can check the digital signature, if it exists and is ok, integrity check has passed with your file.
For multi file installers, there is still an integrity check in place as I recall.

haydenaurion: How do you check digital signatures (on Windows 7 64 bit) and how do I know if they're in good shape?
Right click the installer, properties, digital signatures, details.

If the installer has .bin files it will offer an integrity check.

Mhm, and the installer is back to its usual size. I downloaded the HOMM 2.0 installer yesterday which for some reason was only 23 mb as opposed to its former size (~60 mb).

grviper: I feel kinda naked without the long integrity check of v1.
why? i always skip it. fucking annoying.

i haven't encountered a corrupted download since my 1990s dial-up days.

It was a GOG goof http://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series/environment_sounds_but_no_music_in_homm_1/

Ah. Thx, mate. That's what I figured.

grviper: Are the v2 installers reliable? I feel kinda naked without the long integrity check of v1.
Well, if you download your files through the downloader the integrity check should be unnecessary since the GOG staff mentioned multiple times that the downloader performs such checks throughout the download, theoretically guaranteeing clean files.

Also: Dragonsphere just got updated. So they finally added notifications for the 2.0.0 updates?

Took a year and a half to change to change the dosbox config core settings from "Dynamic" to "Auto". It fixes constant crashing.

No, they didn't. They have updated more than 20 installers these past few days (see my post from yesterday in this thread) without notification. Also, I didn't get any notification on the Dragonsphere update (which was from 2.0.0.13 to 2.0.0.14).

I really like the new ability to select "All" or "New & Updated" games. Better than hunting for that little red banner!

Very odd. I got mine a few seconds before my previous post.

Did you happen to have any other update flags? I know Dragonsphere should have shown one since I was the one that sent it out. Not sure where the issue lies as to why you didn't see the flag.
i think there's a misunderstanding :

i saw update notafication for a game which have a v2 installer , like the v1 one. (see dragonphere recently)

but as pointed out , the notification when a game installer become a v2 doesn't work properly , the problem is here. (almost all the time there's no notification at all in this particular case)

when you have a few games , it's not a real problem, but when u have a lot it starts to be very annoying.

I just don't understand, why there's an issue like this ...
