HunchBluntley: EDIT: Is Softporn Adventure's new library ID different from the old one?
avatar
muntdefems: Not according to MaGog: its library ID is and was 1207662103.

However, since the 'unordered library bug' is affecting MaGog's info about unbundled games, I'm not 100% sure about that.

On the other hand, since Softporn Adventure seems to have been removed as a goodie, and it hasn't been re-added as a purchasable, separate product, I don't think it makes sense for it to be assigned a new library ID since those that will still have it in their libraries are the ones who got it alongside the Leisure Suit Larry 'bundle'.
And that also make me wonder what reasons the publisher might have to remove that game.

It was listed under "goodies" in the library? I thought it had its own library entry. I don't see it listed under "included goodies" on any archived version of the store page that I've checked.

It did/does indeed have its own library entry. Wrong choice of words, my bad. I meant that it came "as an extra" when you bought the Larry 1-6 bundle, and that you couldn't buy it separately. And since there is no way of obtaining it as of now, it makes no sense to create a new library ID for it, hence why it retained its old library ID for those who owned it before its removal.

Sometimes when I try to post links, url tag gets completely messed up. Two urls in the same sentence or paragraph seem to not work properly.

And I can't make this work: [url=https://www.fileplanet.com/87808/80000/fileinfo/Star-Wars:-Jedi-Knight-2-Demo]https://www.fileplanet.com/87808/80000/fileinfo/Star-Wars:-Jedi-Knight-2-Demo[/url]

Test...

1, 2, even 3... Works if you put the URL in quotes. I don't even try without.

https://www.fileplanet.com/87808/80000/fileinfo/Star-Wars:-Jedi-Knight-2-Demo

Hmm... May it be the site being blocked or something? https://www.fileplanet.com/
Nope...

Ok, it's the colon that bothers it, guess if it sees more than one (as in the one after HTTP(S)), it gets confused. Replace with #58; with an & in front (if I put it here it'll replace in the message itself) and it'll work.

Thank you, you saved what little remains of my sanity.

Edit: Removing everything from quote tags, so opening and closing are next to each other, causes an interesting effect... ;)

Yep, always has as far as I know. Same if you put them on different lines but with nothing actually in between. So I always put them on the same line with a space in between if I cut the text. You may have to do it again if you edit the message though.

InkPanther: *snip*
Hate to say it but that's been an issues for ages.

One of the reasons I just put links on a separate line all by themselves.

If it really gets eaten, leave off the http:// and https:// bits. Folks will just have to copy and paste.

Either that or get google to shorten it:

https://goo.gl/

Folks (including myself) do not like shorteres around here but you have to do what you have to do....

It's a 7mths old bug, GOG's aware of it, but it seems that a fix isn't even in their "low priority" list.

ZFR offered an alternative to Cavalary's solution workaround back in Sep 2017 that works like a charm, used even by GOG staffers.

A note regarding ZFR's workaround - the space mentioned is, obviously, required only for hyperlinks with a one-word text.

Thanks. Quotation marks don't disappear after posting though, so I think I'll use them.
The sorting algorithm is still broken.
I wonder how GOG made the super stupid bug in the first place, and why they have not fixed it after so many days.
So I noticed the website was displaying the 404 error page on the front page about 4-5 hours ago. 8-9am Eastern US time.

Skimming the forums, I don't see anyone asking about it.

Guess it was just me.....

If the front page is showing an error page, how is one supposed to get to the forums to complain about it (assuming one doesn't already know the URL)?

Also, do you happen to know if the website was actually serving a 404 status code, or of the server was sending a 200 code with the error page? (In other words, did the server know it was an error, or did it say "OK, found the page you requested, it's right here" but send the error page anyway?)

No, it was GoG's 404 error page with the hole in the middle of it.

I didn't pull the headers. Didn;t even think about it.
