Fever_Discordia: Hmm unless I'm being blind, I can only see Fallout 3 and New Vegas listed - the other 3 should be on there too now, surely?

*edit* Also Redgard is listed under Elder Scrolls but Battlespire is separate - that's a little odd...
The page hasn't been update in over a year, probably just oversights on their part.

LOL oh yes, because its so close to a year ago (assuming American mm/dd/yyyy date format) it tricked me into thinking that it was still 2013 and had been updated just a few days ago!
concentrating more on converting to dd/mm/yyyy in order to make sense of it, to properly think about the year, I think!

I just haven't trained my brain to THINK in that format and find it the most natural yet!

Another win for the research team!

Seven Cities of Gold: Commemorative Edition

My thanks as always to all the researchers here, together we make the dreams a reality.
Two quick questions for the posse here:

1) Is Take-Two Interactive one of those publishers we decided is not worth trying to bother with? I'm looking into a game publisher by them and developed by ASCARON, and would like to know if it's a dead end before it even begins.

2) Was there any answer as to why the other Infocom games aren't here? Is it a rights issue, or more that GOG doesn't have interest in text-only IF titles?

Thanks mates!
the answer to 1) yes. currently a dead end

damien: the answer to 1) yes. currently a dead end
Frackdoodle. And I guess this isn't one of those special cases, where ASCARON held onto the rights and I can do an end-run.

EDIT: It may be that Kalypso holds the rights now, just as they do with Tropico. From Mobygames:

In June 2009, Kalypso Media acquired the majority of the licenses and assets of Ascaron Entertainment after that company entered insolvency. Among the games titles acquired were Port Royale, Darkstar One, On the Ball and The Patrician.

I may have to follow up with them and GOG on this, since they clearly do have a relationship.

Eh, looks like it's already out on another platform. Or two.

I forgot to post it here but I have some bad news about ParaWorld.

Sadly the rights seem to be divided
- with the publishing rights for the US lying with Aspyr
- the rights for the German version lying with Ubisoft now (formerly they belonged to Sunflowers)
- and the publishing rights for the rest of Europe being with Deep Silver

The game is on GamersGate but region-restricted to the US.

The German and French version can be downloaded here: http://gamestop.gamesplanet.com/kaufen-downloaden-pc-spiele/Paraworld-Gold-607-43.html
and has Deep Silver as publisher, so maybe Ubisoft is not involved anymore?

I have no clue if this mess can somehow be resolved, and so I just informed TurrnipSlayer about it because I don't think there's anymore for me to do about it. :-(
This would be such a great game here on GOG and especially for GOG Galaxy.

2. Infocom is Activision these days and as someone recently pointed out, they haven't released ANYTHING on GOG for 20 months now - the longest of the majors to be dormant
It may have something to do with their buy-back/divorce from Vivendi, but who knows?

It still weirds me out that Planetfall is randomly included in the Zork pack, especially without Stationfall tagging along!

Hitchhikers in your browser from the BBC here though:

1) I'll message you about that. :)

2) I think it has to do with a lack of interest from Activision in general, at least right now.
I tweeted Bill Appleton, the founder Cyberflix:

Does that sound to you like he has the rights?
I'm not sure what to do next...

Personally I would flat out ask him if he knows who has the rights, or if there is somebody else that could help with re-releases. That's your call though.
