timppu: Still one note, as I tried it on Win7 64bit (Lenovo ThinkPad T400):

Installation failed even with compatibility modes.

If you install on XP (applying the patch) and copy the installation directory to the Win7 machine, it seems to work pretty good, it is quite stable, full screen and all, etc., albeit a bit of scratchy sounds at times (more like a faint tapping sound in the background), which was the case already in XP.

The only real problem is that it seems to run a bit too fast, making it barely playable. I have no idea if this is due to Win7 or the CPU speed (EDIT: Or, could it be fixed also with vsync? I don't know if it is currently off.). Using compatibility modes didn't seem to have any effect, for good or worse.

I didn't play with any CPU core affinity settings or CPU slow down utilities, in case they help. But apparently it has some speed issues on faster PCs. Too bad because it seemed quite stable to me on Win7, as long as the installation problem was sorted out.
I have windows 7 i have tryed get it to work for days now. But the game still runes fast i tryed virtal pcs i have slowd down my cpu i had run the compatibilltiy. And there i found something the game runs at normal speed if you switch to 256 colors for some reason?
Is there a possibility to install the game on an Win 8(.1) 64-Bit machine? Setup does not work even with compatibility modes enabled... Is there someone out there with an idea? Perhaps a fix for 32-Bit installer on 64-Bit machines or anything else thtat would help?
Anyone have any update on this amazing game running on win 7?

thanks
I just hope some bright spark makes a win7 installer as I am plum out of luck as setup won't run even with compatibility, set as Admin and added to an exception in windows Data Execution Prevention and I just don't have a second rig with XP sitting in the spare room.

Someone made a win7 compatible installer for Future Cop LAPD which installed that game fine. If only they turned their attention to The Reap now!

I've got the original cd and I still got the patch for years on my external archive and will upload it immediately.

This game is really hard though.

Here's the patch:

I got the cyrix patch too but it seems to be around elsewhere too so I did not load it up yet.

If you people have the censored version, there's an easy way to enable the blood again.
In "XFACTOR.CFG"
change "#define SHOW_BLOOD=0" in "#define SHOW_BLOOD=1"

Edit: Ok, as I've seen in this thread, gamefront seems to have it too although the filename is different for some reason.
I wonder why the thread hasn't been marked as solved yet.

Any of you thought about contacting the producers and asking them ? They're still in business :
