i have a backlog
we all do

mine is not as huge as some on here "just" 275 steam games and 136 gog games
and a load of retail pc games
and at least 200 console games ( 70 ps3 games alone )

so i am pushing 600 games easy
and as usual i play very little

this year i plan to work on my backlog i wil not buy any new games ( or as little as possible )
i wont even participate in giveaways
i got enough to play and play em i shall

i already made soem good headway in y back log by beating saints row 2 3 and 4
ghostbusters
and starting on final fantasy 4
mass effect 1
and finishing up bloodlines ( after a 6 year hiatus i last played it in 2008 )

so what are you gonna do about your backlog if anything

snowkatt: so what are you gonna do about your backlog if anything
Er yeah, nothing, it seems. I just keep re-playing games I've already played and sort of liked because I hate changes and new things, apparently.
Although my backlog isn't as huge as other people's. About 60-70 games, I think, some of them "shelved", as in, I've tried and not liked them.
^i got a few of those too
i dont like zeno clash or bloody good time and i will never even install them or play them ever again
high rated
After I finish the two games I'm playing right now I'm probably going to go through the older games I collected for the consoles/handhelds I still have (Shinobi, Nightshade, Lost Odyssey, etc.), play through the list of games I got here and Steam, or get through a few games I started but never finished on both consoles and PC (Ninja Gaiden Black, Xenoblade Chronicles, Metal Gear Solid 3, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, etc.). If I can't decide what to play I'll just play through Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising, or Shovel Knight again. Seems like a simple enough plan to start with.

Absolutely nothing,I'll just keep buying and playing whatever I wish. Why??Because I effin' can.
I'm only buying two games this year. It's exciting to be working on the ol' 'log.
I did alright last year. I almost beat as many games as I acquired and I only started really attacking the backlog in July. This year I'm gonna do even better!

I've noticed the same thing. And then one feels guilty playing those same old games when one has all those other unplayed games lying around... and that affects one's enjoyment of the games one does enjoy...

So to combat my subsequent depression I use retail therapy and buy more games!

You, I like you.
My backlog has grown significantly last couple year because of the (indie) bundle purchase. I am not the kind of gamers that pushing to finish game, and I am having less and less time to game. Now I basically stop bundle purchase, and only buy a game when I am 100% sure that I will install it and play immediately.
My backlog is very small as I am new to Steam and GOG. But it is amazing how many games Ive already got from all the winter sales. I can see how this can get out of hand. It is so cool having this many game options at my fingertips though.
Well, mine is just as infernal as yours... But I can't go through it at any faster rate so I think I'll just have to stop getting as many games. Unfortunately, we all know that's not going to happen so my backlog is likely going to haunt me for decades.
1050 at Steam, 412 here, hundreds more at Humble, Gamersgate, Amazon, IDS, Groupees, Indie Gala, Indie Royale, Desura.

I started to think this will never clear at one lifetime.
i stopped worrying about the backlog , when i crossed 500+ games on steam a long time back .

I just pick and choose what i want to play and dont bother about what all is left to play
