Another glitch:

The <references/> and <ref> tags don't work: https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/List_of_games_removed_from_GOG#2016

PS: And another one:

Articles that have a + sign in the name, fail to load:

You're on a roll :/ Looks like a lot of things didn't make it through the recent upgrade unscathed. Thanks for sharing what you spotted. I disabled the URL-normalisation for now and let Ubivis know about all the other issues.

I've fixed up the <references/> and <ref> tag problem. Thanks again for catching and reporting it.

I think I just managed to fix the [url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Special:RequestAccount]Request Account[/url] page :) New users should be able to sign up now.

Another issue:

[url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Template:Productinfo]Template:Productinfo[/url] uses a strange parser function {{#ReadOnly:left| }} to wrap MD5 hashes. This function is not recognized by the wiki, causing the trailing }} to appear verbatim after MD5 hashes in the info box (see e.g. [url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Planescape:_Torment]this page[/url]).

(Also, the <google1> tag is still not recognized, causing garbage text to appear at the bottom of every Productinfo box.)

gbaz69: Cool, is the date on the installerinfo template, drawn from the date the file was downloaded that was checked against?
Cause I want to update a ton of the installerinfo, and I downloaded all my games in last 72 hours.

Or do you all get DATE info from else where?
Concerning the date (timestamp) on files that are in [url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Template:Productinfo]Template:Productinfo[/url].
I have been using the command-line utility 'pev' to find the timestamp on exe files. I have found the timestamp info. to be an unreliable indicator as to when the game was updated last.

Case in point - Banished.
The file 'setup_banished_2.5.0.9.exe' displays 'Date/time stamp: 1418294576 (Thu, 11 Dec 2014 10:42:56 UTC)'

However, there is this in the changelog - Patch 1.0.6 (23 May 2016).

Since timestamps can be modified, I find them unreliable, in some cases.
On the template wiki page, I think I will input the date when the files were downloaded by me and the hashes checked against what is already on the wiki.

Image thumbnails appear to be broken on the Wiki.

As an example, consider this image...
[url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/File:Icewind_dale_enhanced_edition.jpg]https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/File:Icewind_dale_enhanced_edition.jpg[/url]

...which is used on the following page:
[url=https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Icewind_Dale:_Enhanced_Edition]https://www.gogwiki.com/wiki/Icewind_Dale:_Enhanced_Edition[/url]

Even though the image clearly exists on its own page, the text "Error creating thumbnail: File missing" is shown in its place on the second page.

An even weirder example is this image which I just uploaded:

It isn't rendered even on its own page.

The demo links page uses thumbnails extensively.
Now the page is nearly empty because of this error.

It's still up and running, although I have an account myself from years ago so I can't comment on the process of creating an account at the moment. Fortunately the owner of the wiki had given me admin rights so I'll look into it.

I see that there's a backlog of account requests, with yours on the top. I've approved it, so you should be able to log in now.

It looks like something's not working as it should. When someone requests an account every user on the "bureaucrats" group should receive an email to let them know that a new request has arrived, and the ones requesting the accounts should each get an email message telling them when the application is accepted (or rejected, etc.). But it seems that no emails are being sent at all.

So something's wrong with the email-sending function of the wiki, which makes signing up difficult. This weekend I'll spend some time seeing if there's something I can do from my end to fix it. In the meantime, anyone who want an account (or has been waiting for an account request to get answered) can send a PM to me and I'll sort it out manually.

I believe I was supposed to get the login password through e-mail, which I did not. So I'll wait for that e-mail function to get fixed.

EDIT: Tried resetting the password through email just to see if it is working and received that error.

Error sending mail: Failed to connect to smtp.strato.de:465 [SMTP: Invalid response code received from server (code: -1, response: )]

Hey all,

as you might have noticed, I was not really able to keep the Wiki up to date and running in a well condition.
As my free time for such huge projects is very limited, I will need to shut it down very soon.

Anyone interested in taking over the wiki and domain(s)?

A lot of work of many of you lovely GOG Community Members have been put into it so it would be very sad to see it dying :(

I will put the site to read only by 1st of June and will pull an SQL Dump.

If you're interested in keeping the page alive and running, please get in contact with me that we can arrange the necessary transactions of the files and domains.
