Anyone knows why this game isn't on GOG? It's CRPG Addict's 5th highest ranked game and it's in RPG Codex's 70 best RPGs of all time list. I imagine they would've tried to sign back when the site was called Good Old Games.

If anyone cares to drop a vote >>> https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/the_dark_heart_of_uukrul
One of my favorite games from back in the day. Must be a rights issue or something.
Probably "too niche".
But a very good game, with excellent level design, great atmosphere, and an original magic system.

Quite a unique game, and the only CRPG the designers and publisher Brøderbund ever released.
Well, I never heard of this game before, and it's not like it's the only highly regarded classic game not available on GOG, there are in fact plenty better known classics still missing, so I don't know why this would seem particularly mysterious to anyone.
It's a great classic, for sure. But I think that, due to a bad distribution (I think the game's creators are fron New Zealand), it didn't get almost any recognition in certain countries. The fact that it's graphics were getting dated even for the time it was released didn't help as well.

In England I think it's almost unknown. In my country, the vast majority of old gamers have no clue about this game, while in near Spain it got a cult following. I think it's quite known in France as well.

I'd guess that not even many people in CDP know about this game.
It also hurt that it was DOS only in a time when the Apple II, C64 and Amiga were still going strong.

Both wikipedia and moby games say it was ported to DOS from Apple II. Also, "going strong" is a relative term. Even then, DOS got more attention than any other platform.
This looks like an interesting fun game.

Yeah, the Apple II wasn't exactly going strong anymore and DOS pretty much just started becoming relevant in 1990.

What about Centauri Alliance? Isnt't it a CRPG? Wasn't it published by Brøderbund?

(It's a rather interesting, though unfortunately rather buggy and clunky game. "Bard's Tale in space" is a pretty accurate description of the game.)

It had an Apple II version. The problem is the game was sent out to die by the publisher without any marketing support. Apparently, they didn't even send review copies to magazines.

Who?
That's the game where you can't you really choose your party right? Where you have to take a Wizard, Cleric & Fighter and no other combinations.

There are four party members. And you can change some of their traits by making different answers during "questionair" at the start of the game.

OK, I stand corrected.
