I would rant about my life, but it's amazing! The only thing wrong with my life is the lack of money.

Your avatar is fitting.

deathknight1728: Its kind of sad when i read in the news that someone kills someone in virginia tech but then i think about it. Most of the time people like that were pushed to the point throughout their life. It then occurs to me that in reality its only going to get worse as time goes on. People are just going to get more psycho as the generations go on as the "fake" people destroy everything that everyone else works for by being assholes.

So when asked the same question, sometimes i think that people going psycho is the best kick in the nuts to society ever. Keeps the fake on their ass.

gandhi1900: Did you seriously just imply that virginia tech was a good thing? "Kind of sad"?? No. When 58 people are shot it is a tragedy. The shooter didn't go on a rampage because he was picked on by "fake" people. It's because he had severe mental disorders that were not treated.

Generally, the people who commit mass murder are the assholes who destroy everything.

Is Anders Breivik your newest hero?
Im sorry to burst your bubble about the false reality you speak of, but the truth is this stuff is only going to get worse as people keep on being themselves and wondering why stuff like this happens. Society deserves the kick to the nuts and you know what, too goddamn bad if you dont like it. Its going to keep getting worse as each generation that goes on has less values. You may think that im bad because of what i said, but it doesnt matter. The most watched channel on tv is the channel for news, you people live for seeing fucked up shit on a regular basis. People say they dont like it, yet look at what they watch all the time.
You can say all you want but just remember what channel you watch the most, you like it just as much as i do LMFAO.

You claim that society has no values and therefore deserves punishment. Yet you have no problem with people being murdered. Your argument is circular. If you think that moral decay is causing violence than you should be fighting to preserve morals. Not cheering on mass murderers.

Wanting to know about atrocities does not mean people want them to happen. It's true that Americans were glued to their TVs after 9/11. But if you were to ask them if they wished it never happened the vast majority would say yes. Your argument fails here.

Anyway, not much more point in discussing this. I'll just point out that you sound like a sociopath and should consider seeking help.
Just accidentally listened to my first breakup song since my breakup. Effected me more than I would have liked it to.

Just two stupid ones:

- I saw my old car yesterday. Had breakfast with the wife, came outside the restaurant afterward, and it was sitting in the parking lot next door. I got instantly bummed with seller's remorse. Truly enjoyed that car but I did need to replace it with something just a touch more suitable for work. Still miss the little guy...

- My wife and cookbooks. She loves getting them, poring through them, and then never uses them. So we have some 80-odd cookbooks that she bought and that I use on occasion. When she does decide to use one, it's always back to the old Betty Crocker book that we bought some 20 years ago. And then it's the same dozen or so recipes. Doesn't matter if I give her shit about it: still buys them, still ignores them, still goes back to Betty.

For Christmas, Betty Crocker may find a new home: the garbage can.

Rohan15: Today is the day; 1 year since my dad died. RIP.
Sorry about the anniversary.

I still miss my dad, who died in the late summer of 08, but looking back, it was probably for the best. He was stuck in a hospital, not able to be himself, and just oblivious to all but that last great battle we all will fight and lose.

Is hard this time of year, but remember all of the fun stuff, give him a salute, and fight the good battle to do as he taught you. Smile in his memory and be the man for others he was to you.

My best bud, and hope you manage a good holiday.
Us children of divorce are often sensitive as hell about men trying to come in and be our dads.

StingingVelvet: Saudi Arabia is a bit... I dunno. Not for me.
Actually I don't think I'd do well in a place that doesn't recognize freedom of speech. Or has a problem with alcohol, porn, or any other of my hedonistic ways.

My ex is a professional baker and there's a reason people use that book. Incidentally some editions are extremely rare and valuable, I'd rethink throwing it out were I you:)

Pretty much. Also the way they treat women there is something I find disgusting.

It is, the shit they've done to women who just want to be able to drive is appalling. Literally the conservative report recommending against it stated that allowing them to drive would make them more promiscuous (because a woman that can hang out anywhere besides home would obviously have no choice but to start having sex with a bunch of people, right?).

Women have been sentenced to prison for driving in Saudi Arabia. I don't care what people say, in Saddam's Iraq woman purportedly could go to school. If true that makes Iraq under Saddam a hell of a lot more decent than Saudi Arabia.

Maybe I'll just hide it then. I think Mom has one from the 40s or 50s.

The beauty of recipes is that if they tasted good way-back-when they should still taste good today unless the primary ingredients themselves underwent a significant change, like US pork has.

Want a cool idea? Digitize it for her in something like http://grecipe-manager.sourceforge.net/ (at least her favorite ones). Or heck, use a touchpad, though I wouldn't want to put my dirty cooking hands on one. I use a netbook and it's pretty handy. Some of the better apps can help you generate a shopping list.

I'd actually be doing it for me, since I do most of the cooking around here. That's what makes her cookbook 'fetish' more annoying. Looks like a neat little program. Thanks!
