Umm, sorrry, but this sounds like a scam, imo you shouldn't hand over any additional money and contact Steam immediately from their official site. I don't think this is legit, your "friend" and the "Steam employee" (probably fake) are probably con men trying to rip you off.
avatar
le_chevalier: I keep going back to ATM because the employee isn't even sure how much exactly I have to send.
The amount of money you have to send is "as much of it as they can get from you, until you wise up and stop sending them money".
To prove I'm legit owner of my account I have to add funds corresponds to the value of games I own.
That makes...no sense. At all. Blatant scam, dude; sorry you fell for that somehow. Say goodbye to all the money you've given them, as you will never see it again. Use this as an expensive learning experience, I guess.

thats a definate scam mate.

Edit: and for some reason I cant report your account as hijacked - which is odd. im sure that used to be there for this kind of reason.

According to her, my account status is "resolving".
She looks like legit Steam authority.
Here's her credentials:
Christen coomer™#0983

I checked using SteamID.uk, SteamRep. I found her Twitter handle as well.

The person who reported me has been banned apparently, though he made similar account today. She said that those who make false report will be banned. That's not comforting. Since I'm the one targeted, have to go through this trouble. I didn't buy from sketchy websites. Didn't even buy anything these last few days. I totally have no idea what my accuser's report based on.

IMHO -- like many prior -- this sounds like a scam.

Immediately contact Steam Customer Service d-i-r-e-c-t-l-y.

Do not send any funds and do not communicate with anyone other than Steam Customer Service.

Wait until you have heard from Steam Customer Service before deciding how to proceed.

somehow i doubt theyd speak with you via discord other than to point you to the support pages.
secondly, ive never heard of anybody having to pump up cash to get their account back.

check yourself on steamrep. you are merely community banned.

I have no idea about Steam, but even if that person is a legitimate Steam authority, are you sure you've really communicated with her, and not someone else who just pretended to be her?
I just can't imagine something like "send us the money your games are worth" could ever be legit (what would be the purpose of this? Proves nothing after all), that's classic scam stuff.
I didn't send direct cash, btw. I sent Steam Wallet codes. She said that after the verification process complete, she will cancel those codes. She showed me screenshots of the verification process. It seems the funds added to my Steam account.

I did. It's sad. I've never done anything sketchy.

It sounds like pumping out cash because the method of my payment. That's the one available to me right now.

I don't deny that this could be a scam. I hear you guys. Let's see how this goes.

I don't use Steam myself, but this still sounds fishy as hell, imo you really should contact official Steam customer support and cease communicating with this person for the time being.

I cannot find any reference of having to pay to get your steam account back other than in relation to hijacking / scams.

main advice is report / block all accounts involved, go to the steamguard page and signs out of all devices and go through the account recovery process.
I'm contacting support now.
