For the prize that's a pretty good deal. Sam & Max games are great and I personally liked those Puzzle Agent games a great deal. Back to the Future is good as well, but a bit uneven as a whole

I think general concensus is, that Jurassic Park is the worst TT game, but I haven't played that myself, just like I haven't tired Law & Order, Hecotor or Strong Bad either.

N0x0ss: Other than that Telltale Games look like they really lack gameplay wise... It's as if you were just watching a movie with little to none-interaction.
That only started with Jurassic Park, before that they were pretty typical adventure games. Unless you mean the whole point and click genre is like that, which I guess I could see to some extent. Generally puzzle design is considered the gameplay, and most of them suck at it.

As for Telltale, I really likes Tales of Monkey Island but everything else I played from them was pretty mediocre. Sam and Max season 1 just wasn't funny or fun like the original LucasArts game... maybe 2 and 3 were better. Back to the Future was terrible.

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but my face was wet with tears of laughter when I was playing season 1.

Sam and Max season 2 is actually even worse, but season 3 is brilliant. Telltale's finest hour, if you ask me.

I should just skip 2 and play 3. Everyone says the same thing as you but my desire to play them in order keeps holding me back.

What was it about BTTF you did not like?
Seems like a pretty good deal. My sister wanted Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and The Walking Dead. I'll let her know, maybe we can split the bill. Will I be able to order disc copies for the cost of shipping later? They used to do that.

I know what you mean; I have that, too. But the truth is, 2 reuses a lot of characters and locations from the first season and doesn't introduce almost anything new, while 3 is designed as a minor reboot because they were taking it to the consoles for the first time. So in this case, I'd really say s2 is not worth the time.
I agree. While the telltale adventures are not all terrible, there are a lot of other adventure games I'd recommend playing first.

I'm playing through the Blackwell games at the moment, for example, and they are fantastic. Great story, simple yet rewarding puzzles, great characters, great music.

I've also heard a lot about Gemini Rue, which I'll play soon and the Syberia games which I picked up this weekend. Then there are all the classic lucasarts and sierra games etc. etc.

You could pick up a ton of these game from gog for less than that bundle of mostly average to crap games. You could probably wait for a steam holiday sale also. If i remember correctly they were selling all the telltale game for a similar price.

It was intensely boring. The story, the characters, the puzzles and my goodness, the dialogue. It was all so bland, I just had no desire to keep playing.

I don't know if I'll ever go back to it and try and finish.

Licurg: Hector Badge of Carnage is an awesome adventure game.
It was one of telltale's better games, however, it was completely and utterly filthy. I didn't expect it to be so disgusting.

Yes, I sort of have to agree on the puzzle part. Not good at all actually. I guess I just kept playing for nostalgia sake.
That's the best thing about it:D

EDIT: Fucking quotes....

They still havent released epi 2, I hate episodic games like that, SiN sequel was episodic and it got cancelled after the first episode, but at least it came with a patched version of SiN 1.

I'm glad I didnt stump up for all the episodes of WD in advance, dunno if I'll even bother with the new episodes when/if they get released.
Are these DRM and Steam free?

If you buy from Telltale there is an online-activation (not really limited, but still), but you can order for some games the CD versions paying only the delivery costs (which were for some regions really high, need to check this). As far as I know the CD versions have only an cd-check and no online-activation.

Wow, that's pretty good, only missing Tales of Monkey Island.

I remember when I paid $35 just for Sam & Max Season 1 back in $2008! Most expensive single game purchase I'd made in 11 years since the $40 Diablo 1, and not surpassed since then.

As for the games themselves:

Sam & Max Season 1 was all right
Sam & Max Season 2 was great
Hector Badge of Carnage was great if you're not squeamish
Puzzle Agent 1 was pretty good
Puzzle Agent 2 was just ok

and I haven't played the rest yet.
